How did you make the image that size? Does the board shrink the display size automatically? I have no idea why THFC insist on using mega-huge pictures for internet viewing.
I just copied the URL of the image and stuck it between two IMG thingies in brackets, Inda. You seem to have used a slightly different method, which makes them smaller but clickable. There's an additional bit with URLs in your comment, if you click Reply With Quote and compare them.
Beck to the game, think this one will be a good with Newcastle putting in a battling performance, however on this one I have to say Tottenham to win 2-1.
Team News for Spurs from the OS: Aaron Lennon and Jermain Defoe are back in the frame to face Newcastle on Saturday. Both have been out for our last two Premier League matches against Wigan and Liverpool after picking up hamstring injuries in the FA Cup win at Watford on January 27. There was also positive news on Ledley King, who trained with the squad this morning (Friday, February 9) having played at Anfield on Monday. "Jermain has trained okay in the last couple of days and Aaron Lennon as well, he's coming back, he's looked sharp," reported Harry Redknapp before training on Friday. "Ledley, again, we'll have to wait and see. He's coming out this morning to have a jog around and we'll see how he is." On the down side, Rafa van der Vaart remains out with a calf strain while both Younes Kaboul (knee) and Sandro (calf) are 'struggling', according to Harry. Meanwhile, William Gallas is on his way back from a calf injury. "He's started to jog again but he's still a couple of weeks away," added Harry.
It'll be interesting to see how we line up, but I feel that with van der Vaart out and both Lennon and Defoe back in the frame we might revert to a 4-4-2. Friedel; Walker, Dawson, King, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Parker, Modric, Bale; Adebayor, Defoe, perhaps? Shame to see Kranjcar left out and he might start in place of van der Vaart, but the above is more likely to be Redknapp's choice, in my opinion. It'll be nice to have a fully focused manager back again, too. That's assuming that he's not too distracted by all of this England talk, of course.
Indeed. Our attitude in this game is almost as important as the result. With regards to line-up - 4-4-2 is the more likely choice but I'd rather we sub VdV for Krancjar and overrun their midfield. If we achieve this, we stifle service to Ba and Cisse, whereas 4-4-2 will leave things more open and at the moment I fancy Ba to finish a difficult chance, not so much Adebayor.
Glad VDV is out. Still a very threatening team though, and Bale and Lennon's pace is the most worrying thing of all. Then again, we do have two quick full backs of our own in Santon and Simpson, but our CB pairing is hardly rapid, so it depends how much width your wingers decide to use.
GHoddle10 will doubtless bang on and on about it... I'm wondering how the front line will be - pairing Ade and Defoe (or maybe Ade and Saha, with Defoe coming on later), or try and play our usual system with Niko in VDV's place?
Saha and Ade has got to be worth a shot. Saha looked very good in the air against Liverpool Niko would do a good job of playing in VDV's role IMO
Fair point, Superal. If there are any questions over Defoe's fitness, then I'd rather Saha started the game.
Even if we start two strikers, it's important that they take it in turns to drop off a bit. The absence of Tiote and Cabaye will certainly hurt them and it gives us an excellent opportunity to dominate the midfield, which we'll struggle to do with two wingers and two strikers leaving all the work to Parker and Luka. Saha looked promising against Liverpool and atleast one a couple of headers, unlike Ade, but that was with us playing more long balls than normal so I'd go with Ade and Defoe as we know they play best in our more open home-style.
Think the most important thing is whatever formation we start and whoever does start,we will have a bench which can change the game, which we didn't have last week.
Agree, bench last match looked like a pressgang rounded up a few lads playing footie in the local park.
I'm just hoping we don't line up with Nelsen and Dawson, no disrespect to either, but that would worry me.
I was dreading an injury at the back - we would've been one step closer to a player not deemed up to standard by Reading making his Premier League debut if that happened.
Was thinking the same thing while gnawing on the armrest on the sofa during that match. Anyone know the terms of Caulkers loan deal? Can he be recalled or is he at Swansea for the season?
