that the Safe Standing Roadshow comes to the KC tomorrow...

The Football Supporters' Federation will hold its Safe Standing Roadshow on the perimeter road at the South Stand end of the stadium from noon.

It is prior to supporters arriving at the stadium for the Championship clash against Bristol City.

The aim of the event is to display a section of the safe standing Rail Seats used at German football matches and give visitors more information about the scheme, which could see standing return to some English grounds.

The seats offer the option of standing while those wishing to sit can still have an uninterrupted view.

Great idea, we need something to shake the atmosphere up at home, football is meant to be watched standing up where possible, fair dos if you cant stand but the atmosphere suffers with all-seaters

Get the standing Terrace back pronto. Only government whimps stopped the fun and are not listening to the majority.

i must be daft becuase i just dont get that thing, am i right in thinking its a seat with bars on if you want to stand up? but how does resolve the conflict if half want one and half the other in an area, and if there seperate areas, why not just have half seats, half terrace?

That's only because you're a miserable old sod whose legs failed him many moons ago.

Don't spoil the kids fun as well :)

It would just be installed in one area and though it does have a seat, it will actually be sold as all standing and those who want to sit will go elsewhere.

Even if the seat in front is empty you'd have to stand. If there's bars going up in front of you for you to lean on they must be up to at a certain height, surely if you've then chosen to sit in your seat those bars are right in front of your face obstructing the view? If not your bars, the bars for the people a row or two further forward.

The seats keep stadium's compliant with UEFA regulations, as they can be sold as seats if necessary. Could be an issue if we hope to host an U21 game or something like that.

The revolutionary idea involved seems to be these amazing seats that actually fold away when you're not sitting on them.

Is it just me that thinks I've seen that before?

Having a seat allocates each person a space which should help to stop crushing caused by too many people trying to be in the same place at the same time. Plus it gives you somewhere to sit while you have your half time pie.

Terracing is banned due to the disasters that happened, that ban is not going to be overturned, so rather than just having a futile campaign for the return of terracing, a way has been found to get safe terracing and that's what the campaign is all about. It's working perfectly in Germany and there's no reason why it shouldn't be allowed here too.

The atmosphere at most Bundesliga games I see is pretty terrific, this probably helps a lot
