He's not in their 23 man squad for the upcoming international friendly...

"Anthony Pilkingon (Norwich), Andy Keogh (Millwall), Ciaran Clark, Stephen Ireland (both Aston Villa) and Paul McShane (Crystal Palace) have all missed out on a call-up for the game."

More surprising is the fact that they haven't given James McClean his expected call-up either.

AGREED. Never read anything into friendly squads. Traps knows what Macca can do and cannot do for that matter.

It's definitely their first team squad - Shay Given (Aston Villa), Keiren Westwood (Sunderland), David Forde (Millwall); John O'Shea (Sunderland), Stephen Kelly (Fulham), Stephen Ward (Wolves), Richard Dunne (Aston Villa), Sean St Ledger (Leicester), Darren O'Dea (Leeds), Kevin Foley (Wolves); Glenn Whelan (Stoke), James McCarthy (Wigan), Seamus Coleman (Everton), Keith Andrews (West Brom), Keith Fahey (Birmingham), Darron Gibson (Everton), Damien Duff (Fulham), Aiden McGeady (Spartak Moscow), Stephen Hunt (Wolves); Robbie Keane (Aston Villa), Kevin Doyle (Wolves), Shane Long, Simon Cox (both West Brom), Jon Walters (Stoke).

Looking forward to seeing Jon Walters at the Euros, always thought he was a good lad, maybe a bit unlucky not to get a proper run in the team, and Andrews seemed tidy enough to me on the ball

Walters has been a class act for Stoke, unfortunately things didn't work out here in the end. Nice guy as well.

I seem to remember reading in the Fail his baby had a problem or something similar so maybe that didn't help him with us, agreed he is a top lad and highly rated at Stoke now good luck to him

With a squad like that, I don't understand why they don't make more tournaments. Some of the teams you see at World Cups must be worse than ROI and some of the other home nations.
