Ha ha, cheers grizz. Might take the money i won on Newbs being on and invest it in the 'pig' quevega with corals who are the only bookie still holding evens.
When the 'Betfair' race (or Tote Gold Trophy) as it was got restaged last year it ended up being for just a quarter of the original prizemoney. I doubt if many of the original entrants will be so keen to run on these terms.
This is a catastrophe. I have never hated snow with such a vengeance and I can assure you that I have hated snow in my time! I can only begin to wonder what the owners/trainers/jockeys must be feeling. I just hope that a satisfactory outcome is reached.
Morning chaps gutted about Newbury. Tomorrows racing at Mussleburgh is a waste of space would happily spend my money on this AW bumpers stuff and Jebel Ali over that heap of ****. Creekside and Cape Dutch interesting runners that is all. Naas is ok with two decent races. Sunday at Leopardstown 3 belting races and Exeter is a fantastic card hoping that one doesn't go as well
Morning chaps, but not a good one... Super Saturday has become another victim to the weather... Boo, hiss, boo...!!! Not looked too much at whats on with the AW but im not really in the mood after the news from Newbury... Oh well, onwards and upwards...
You have summed up my mood nicely there Red. I know it's trivial in the grand scheme of things but I just feel I can't be bothered to do anything today. Had been building the Newbury card up for weeks so a massive let down for me.
Anyone taken the 1/8 on Oscar Whiskey? Cyc - ref Guus Hiddink it will depend whether the PC Brigade can convince the Xenophobes Whoever it is it won't change the popular misconception that England are world cup winners waiting to happen and we just need the right trainer
Cornelius Lysaght - BHA expected to re-schedule abandoned Saturday card to next Friday (17th); TV slot being sorted; sponsor keen; race values down
Piss Poor day of racing today, nothing much standing out either so will not be doing anything other than a line on each meeting in the placepot, will post selections later. Having said that I may have a couple at Dundalk tonight that might be worth having a look at. BTW, Oscar Whiskey loses today, deffo not worth backing at 1/8, Milgen Bay at 10's would be the one I was on if betting, but anyone betting at Kempton needs their head testing, fancy the placepot to be big though as there could well be many bigger priced winners there today as no one really knows how they will go on the surface.
Tom my personal opinion I would rather back at that Kempton card than Dundalk . As for Oscar Whisky getting beat he will win 20 lengths hard held but I agree 1/8 you must be mad
Oddy - just seen your Countdown item from last night... Thats so funny...!!! Think Viz did the same thing with Roger Melly 'The Man From The Telly' years ago...
just a gut feeling about Oscar Whiskey, for some reason I do ok at Dundalk, no idea why just find it runs very similar to Wolverhampton over here and suits similar profile of horse, but the thing with Dundalk is it's always the same horses against each other
I'd be happy laying him for small at 1/8. Question marks about the surface, short trip make him no certainty....
Tom Grizzly come off it - the surface point fair enough but the trip not a chance. He is a quick horse and won his first bumper over 1m4f . Nothing can get near him in that race- IMPOSSIBLE.
Yeah Red I used to love Roger...my favourite was his pro-celeb golf round with Jimmy Tarbrush and Bruce Fivesyth with the dog crap in the bunker.. Also liked the parody on "Through the Keyhole" where the celebrity had to be identified via a colonoscope!! Anyhow,no wager for me today. Shame we lost the big h'cap hurdle..it was the only race I was interested in tomorrow from a betting perspective. GL all.
