Already press reporting another 'Race Scandal' - managed to dig up an offensive remark made by Stuart Pearce from 20 years ago!! Why would any sane man want this job?

Which paper dug this up? Was it that paragon of virtue & truth "The Currant Bun" by any chance?

Do you really think Redknapp is going to discard his own relative fat Frank, along with his old favourites Rio and Terry?

    Redknapps Team

    -------------David---------------
    -------Kyle Rio Tezza Ash--------
    ------------Scotty--------------
    --------Frankie Mickey Carrick---
    -----Joe--------------Jermaine---
    ------------Crouchy------------

Seriously though I couldn't see him leaving out Terry/Rio/Frank Lamps/Joe Cole. He loves Becks too so he might be back from the Olympic squad!

What a ****ing surprise eh? Of course we all know that their journalists are whiter than white, are all saints & would make Jesus look like a ****.

It's a truly disgusting, **** sheet. I wouldn't cough my morning phlegm up on it or even wipe my arse with it, I'd rather use my hand.

That squad is too old. Maybe he'll get the best out of ageing players like Parker. But only for the Euros not beyond. Though Parkers attitude is more head down play football than media live it large Lamps and Terry.
Crouch and Jermaine (im assuming Defoe not Jenas) are players he's sold or dropped so I don't agree with it being a team full of his mates.
He's either done well or hit it lucky with youth in Bale and Walker, so perhaps he will see the advantage of bringing in youth to England. (This is Wengers strong point, He won't necessarily win anything but no-one will with Spain, Holland, Germany etc but he will allow the development of youth players).

England managers only really pick the squad and motivate them. There is very little time for coaching, beyond organising the tactics for each game and I think MO'N would be a brilliant choice. However, the FA can bog right off with regard to that one, as MO'N is ours now!! England can have Steve Bruce, who's English and has time on his hands...

Any proper football supporter should refuse to read the Sun on principal.
The lies they told about the Liverpool supporters when the whole of the UK was mourning the sad loss of life, is nothing short of scandalous.
And what does Pearce's brothers political leanings have to do with anyone but the brother.
Stinks of Cockney journalists trying to excuse that **** Terry and making sure the way is clear for Saggy Chops.

Got to say I read it and thought it was a bunch of lies, Gordon Taylor apparently commented on it at the time, yet can anyone remember this happening.

My idea of Harry's team was obviously tongue in cheek but the clamour for the disposal of Fat Frank has been going on for years. I bet Harry is not subjected to such scrutiny when he picks him (he will its his ****ing nephew afterall)

Like who, though? I'm aware that there are numerous British non-English managers, but how many of them would be good enough (or high profile enough) to get the England job? The only one for me is O'Neill, and then at a push, Moyes.

Plenty of good managers, but some of them are too young or inexperienced, having their only PL experience this season. Others simply aren't doing very well and haven't been able to prove that they could cut it whatsoever.

There's Alan Pardew, who is the highest placed English manager, Moyes, who has continually proven his managerial ability, and O'Neill, who has done well whenever he's went and is currently in the process of turning Sunderland's fortunes around.

So really, if Redknapp were to turn the job down, who is it most likely to go to?

PS: Massively unlikely, but I'd love to see Sir Alex take the post in his final managerial years.

Roy Hodgson (born 9 August 1947 in Croydon, England) is a former English footballer and current head coach of West Bromwich Albion.

Alan Scott Pardew (born 18 July 1961 in Wimbledon, London) is an English football manager and former player, currently the manager of Newcastle United.

Source: The Sun - this is quite serious imho ...

I agree with the ever-nauseating OP, O'Neil would turn it down and there is a possibility he may be offered the job and he will turn it down. Had he not picked up the Sunderland mantle, just over 2 months ago, it's feasible he could have been given the role right now.
