absolute bollacks, manchester and mancunians have never supported an anti working class right wing party, maybe they gave us a few quid to build our tram system , you should stop tarring an entire city with a few political opportunists
You want to be seen as a serious socialist? Try reading about Liverpool Militant Labour Council policies and Thatchers warning to other Labour controlled councils of the consequences of supporting and the benefits not supporting Liverpool City Council. The Tolpuddle Martyrs must have turned in their graves.
reading about militant i was there at meeting in the late 80s supporting the likes of terry fields in his efforts to become elected in broadgreen in 92, i need no lectures from nobody, the only reason manchester got money was when the stadium was built at wastelands which was a con , i know because i live five minutes from there
Yep and Where was the support for Terry,John,Derek etc at the Party Conference? Liverpool labour movement was sold out by their so called comrades who under Kinnock were no better than the Liberals. Anyway this is about the game on saturdy you manc twat
Back on topic. I expect an anticlimax in this match. I'd like a clean, deserved win for our boys...but I can't see that happening. I predict a close, fractious game with a controversial winner / key-decision. And, at OT, I can't see this going our way, this time around. Hope I'm totally wrong, though, and it's a belter! I've predicted a MU win, possibly 1-0 (Hernandez). Really, really, really hope I'm way off the mark.
It's almost midnight and now we are discussing socialist party politics - oh well so be it. To be fair Page, Militant policies and the Liverpool interpretation of them owed more to Communist doctrine than it did to Socialist policies as they were presented by the Labour Party. It can be argued that the fight against Militant in socialist ranks did for 2 labour leaders (Kinnock and Smith) and ultimately led to the abortion of Blaire's New Labour. Looking back, Hatton and his cronies merely repeated the same flawed strategy persued by Scargill with the same type of outcome. In a lot of ways the Thatcher government was only strong when it was confronted. When other Labour councils worked the system created by them the gained massively whereas Liverpool lost massively.
everbody knows the Labour party was hijacked by blair and his new labour thats because people were so sick of the tories that they would do anything to get rid of them, we now have a much worse evil gang of free market fanatics in power, by the way that big lump of ****e carroll hes not worth 10 milion
Well we all seem to agree that New labour was an abortion of socialist principles. As for Carroll, you won't be saying that after he grabs a brace on Saturday
He isn't worth £35 million. He's definitely worth £10 million. To paraphrase SAF (totally out of context, of course, he was referring to Adam): "You'd pay £10 million for his knock-down to Kuyt alone!"
Yep, no doubt if carroll scores at the weekend when fergies finally comes out of the bog he will blame thatcher.
Yea, well any game featuring Man U is usually a tight drab affair to be honest, hopefully Liverpool's high tempo pass and move football will counter act United's anti-football and we will get a decent game. Hopefully we will see a bit of United's weak barcelona impression's where they constantly pass backwards and sidewards. Always good value....
i think the match on saturday will be close and possibly a war of attrition , the first goal will be vital and whilst id like us to win 5 -0 iid quite like goal in the fourth minute of injury time flying off that skrtels bonce and flying past senor reina
Yeah, that's true. Think it's from the new Alice in Wonderland flick - the (slightly more sinister than before) Cheshire Cat. Loved Critters, though. The sequels were a bit naff and the fourth installment introduced DeCaprio - from which there is no recovery!
