Looking at the PL squads only DQPR have a surplus of strikers. 11 on there books but i guess that 5 of them can leave. After Helguson who has got 9 goals so far the next top scorers are Barton, Bothroyd and Mackie with 2 each. Which of these then : - DJ Campbell - Rob Hulse - Tommy Smith - Jay Bothroyd - Jamie Mackie do posters think Mark Hughes may let go now and who could be the player to score US some goals if we could land one of them ? This weeks arrivals @ DQPR of Bobby Zamora - Cisse - Balanta and recently Macheda plus Helguson would make the others surplus to requirements, surely ?
I would expect a striker to arrive shortly after the emergency loan window opens. I bloody hope so anyway.
There are a number of Free Agents now who could be signed up. A number of contracts were cancelled on tuesday 31st January thus allowing them to move anywhere and whenever.
ffs, you want blood eh ? there not all strikers though which is what we all want NB to get in. well we know that Danial Cousin is already a free agent. Alexander Hleb...Barcelona have cancelled his contract. Free Agent now. I shall trawl thru the list and Post the strikers only. We dont need defenders or midfielders do we which the 2 below are of.!!!! Lee Johnson(Garys son)....Bristol City cancelled his contract. Free Agents now. Ryan Nelsson.....Blackburn Rovers cancelled his contract but Spurs have since snapped him up.
Balanta isn't a recent arrival, he's a kid who's been with them for years. Mackie is the first choice left winger and has played every minute under Hughes. Tommy Smith is the sub who covers Mackie and Shaun Wright Phillips. Hulse in his day could have been a good signing, I'd have doubts about him now. Their strikers are: Zamora, Helguson, Bothroyd Cisse, Macheda, Campbell Bothroyd and Campbell might be available, but despite his size we'd have to be careful with Bothroyd as a lone striker. He did it for them earlier in the season and it just didn't work, but how much of that was a lack of support I don't know. (we'd be looking for the wingers and Koren to be working off him rather than him having to hold it up for 20 seconds or more)
unequivocally no he would be a embarrassment to the likes of Aaron no work rate whilst tripping over his bottom lip, I remember a Rangers fan saying at the time we signed him that he would personally drive the man to Hull to get rid totally agree with Golaccio.
I see that Rangers are looking to take Cousin back. Is he a free agent? and would we want him?. I don't think he lived up to his reputation when he was with City, he didn't score many goals but those he did score were good ones..
