I don't get the argument that the next manager must be English. People say that an English manager would get the English players more motivated etc than a foreign one. It didn't happen with McLaren, Keegan, Hoddle, Graham Taylor etc. I personally would like Hiddink. Harry may get caught out tactically - he hasn't had a great deal of experience in European competitions. I also don't see how we could have a part-time manager leading up to the Euros. That would be shocking preparation
Theres somebody at the door...theres somebody at the door. Who could it be? Its Croc? Oh no, sorry, I meant Klinsman
I've merged the four 'New England Manager' threads, I think one will suffice. My preference would be Hiddink.
I for one would love to see Hope Powell manage in the english leagues but not the england team just yet
Tabloid journo's dream - can you see the headlines? 'Hope's Heroes' (or villains - take your pick), 'Here's Hope-ing for success' etc etc......... Think you've got a point though - she comes across as one tough cookie, sure she'd sort the likes of JT out no problem!
Rupert Murdoch Since the press seem to think they can control the team we might as well let them do it directly. It might also have the benefit of stopping them from digging up all the worst bits about the squad only to announce them the day before the tournament starts even though they've known for months.
so the fa would prefer an English or British manager Could anyone see a Scot managing an English side when the Scots support themselves or anyone who plays against England surely any nationality is better than those north of the border I await eagerly for any response
