its not just the brighton match that was important gangsta, its all the other games this season, that we havn't either performed or turned up in, and as ive said in other posts, how long have we been saying, were only 3,4,5,6, whatever it may be off the playoffs??? and where are we now??? no bloody closer is the answer. and nor will we be without winning several games on the spin, something we have not done all season. forget it for this season its over, we now have injuries and suspensions, coupled with the fact that most of our midfield are inept or past it,tho some never had it to start with(tho the newcomers look to be a breath of fresh air). as many people say, its needs a summer clearout, and start again next season with renewed hope.................
But we have started playing over the last five games. And Nige has brought in some quality as we knew he would. The only problem as I see it is Nige doesn't have much time to turn promise into delivery, otherwise it will be looking to next season. I think the next five games are massive.
We've been consist for five games now, we've just had bad decisions go against us. I think your comment should be - surely we'll start to have the rub of the green now.
In all probability yes, you're right. But sometimes, one win can kickstart a winning run and we probably need a long winning run if we are to have a chance of getting there.
... agreed .. and just imagine how much opposition forwads will fancy taking on a pairing of Bamba and Morgam ... could just be the rock on which a good run in is built..
we have to play the bottom 3, I think all at home, so they are must wins for me. If we win what I would expect us to and still miss the playoffs (starting with a draw this weekend), i'd be happy
The problem for us all season has been our poor midfield, no width and only 1 decent striker Now Nigel has brought in Danny Drinkwater to help the midfield, Ben Marshall to offer some width and Jermaine Beckford has started to come out of his shell and the goasls have started to go in for him So things have started to get better recently but the **** refs have cost us big time in the last 2 matches
lets see how we do at watford mid wk before we get too carried away shall we, one win dosn't make a season, and one performance(not before time)from Gallagher does not mean he is back in form, still far too lightweight for my liking, but fair play to him today............
play offs definitly possible, we now need to build on the last few performances and go and get at least a draw at Watford. We then have sheep away, cov at home and brizzle away, they are all winnable on our current form/performances, refs have robbed us in the two games before today, maybe that is why we got Halsey for todays game? Next four matches in the league we need two wins and two draws, we will then be in top 8 I think, going into last 12 games.
Bur I make that six matches in a row in which we have performed. Only dodgy refs prevented us from six straight wins (in league and cup).
Watford 0 LcFc 2 coming up on Tuesday as the foxes start moving up towards the play offs and a play off final v Hull City ...
True, defiantly enjoying seeing us come out and perform well and hope it continues, but its the result when the whistle blows that are important, and no doubt we will be docked a few more points due to piss poor refereeing. I think the results against Pompey, Peterborough and Ipswich in December will cost us at the end of the season. If they had gone to plan, we would be 6th, but thats the fun of football
I have just been through past three seasons, 75, 74 & 70 have been enough for 6th, this season is more competitive, maybe less than 70 this season? That would mean minimum, 8 wins, 4 draws from our last 16 games, the way we are building, I think that is possible, and to snatch that last place with 68 points would be massive. We can only lose four more games! This is possible now, with our manager and squad.
