Pards for England?

Watching Pearce attempt to manage during the U21 euros showed that he is one of the worst possible people for the job, hugely negative and tactically inept. Jobs probably his knowing the FA.

I think Redknapp will get the job, seems nailed on, maybe he'll get an assistant who will eventually become the manager. Ideally they need to get in someone young to grow with the next batch of players, as Germany did with Low, sticking it out through any initial poor results. Maybe, maybe Southgate may be that person, he's very highly thought of at the FA, or an ex-player of recent years.

 

i can't for the life of me see Harry leaving spurs now, they're 3rd, he's got a great squad, next year they'll probably be in the champions league and challenging for the title. I know he's always said he'd love the job, but it's poor timing for him surely?!

 

I don't think Harry would be suited to the England job

The perfect person would be sir Clive Woodward, he'd bring back respect and dignity

However, i doubt he would want to get involved in such a corrupt organisation!

 

Why???? He may be a good rugby coach but how the hell is he supposed to transfer that across to football. Did he not quit the England rugby job to try his hand at football but turned out complete naff at it

 

Because he is a motivator

If you are an England quality player, you should know the basics

You need to have someone who has respect, i dont know many people who could show Harry that

He went into the board side until the olympics got him to do a lot of training for that

 

Hmm, i dont think merely knowing the basics will be enough come time to face the germans, spanish etc.. only the right tactics and team selection will give yous a chance to make it past them

 

I can understand exactly what you mean, but if people want an English manager there would be 2 main football cadidates

Harry or Roy

And i would want neither!

Roy has been on the international stage before and done very well, but if he got the job and Harry didnt, Everyone would blame the FA for not getting Harry

So IMO if people want an English manager, they have to look futher, and possibly Woodward with a very experienced assistant

 

Harry will do it part time until end of season then go full time

 

This is what I am thinking. I also get the feeling Spurs will acquire the services of Mourinho over the summer. Hate the man but there is no doubting his pedigree

 

If you want English and motivator......Venables!! I'd prefer Holloway.......oh **** just realised that Warnock is available as is Bruce......!!!!

Houghton would be great actually. At least his workman-like teams don't fall apart under pressure

But it's Ian Holloway for me 100%, though I think I'd give him more time to settle in with a squad than just these Euro's. I'd give him the World cup too

 

It's scary to think Pardew would be one of the best choices.

 

Harry for me. You have to give it to him Spurs play some lovely football and he could get the best out of our English talent.

 

Ain't going to happen, the guys been out of management for a while n after a year being bak, things going very well he ain't going to risk taking the england job especially wit the bad **** going on, euro 2012 we flop pards is out of a job within 6 months.

I think it'll be Harry. The only sticking point is whether Spurs will allow him to do it on a part time basis. Certainly would not be my choice as I think we'll go backwards with the likes of Terry, Lampard and the ones who need left behind being first choice under him. Its a bit of a poisoned chlaice really, who'd want the job when you'll be undermined like that.

Got more respect for Capello than ever. Put his principles over money and did well to disassociate himself from our comical footballing body. We really are going to be badly prepared unless they do the sensible thing and give Pearce the job who at least knows the current system, the mistakes made in SA, recent tournament management experience and a burning ambition for his country to do well. I liked Capello, a top boss. Only lost two competitive games and was badly let down by the players at crunch time (Rooney mainly). The problem is in this country we're very impatient. The rest of Europe know we're behind technically but we refuse to accept it. We can never seem to let an international boss have more than one or two tournaments in charge so they can improve. Just because the guys you employ in international roles are at the top of the game, doesn't mean they stop learning.

Capello had started to blood the next generation and seemed likely to take a good mix this summer, I hope we don't get Saggy Harry going for one last drink in the last chance saloon with the so called golden generation
