Yep can see that, think there was a discussion about Keegan on here where it turned out a 20 year old member didn't like Keegan.

I only caught the end of the Keegan era (I'm 21) so I can't really appreciate it. Sir Bobby will always be my favourite manager though.

No way of knowing on Barton and Nolan. But Hughton was very accepting of the boards decisions and those two were going regardless of who was manager. Pardew fought to keep Barton but there is only one man making the ultimate decisions, so you'd have to aceept or leave. I think Hughton would have accepted based on his previous. He was the only guy willing to work with Ashley, managers were baulking at the mention of it in interviews. Like Pardew, Hughton needed Mike and he needed them. Hughton was termed as wet and a lap dog in his early days due to his willingness to work around the owners bizarre ways.

As for Steven Taylor, he was never going for me. No danger as Hughton was very keen and as we saw subsequently Taylor saw sense and stayed with us. That was only about money.

The only sticking point and difference with Pards was the bonus sheet. Pards got them to sign that but it would hardly be a reason to sack a coach, and it might have been signed under Hughton once Mike sold the ring leaders Nolan and Barton.
