Sess by miles - I think he was 5mil like HBA - total bargain like. Much more of a "complete" player than HBA. Can't believe he wasn't prized away from the north east in the transfer window.

    Me neither.

Maybe clubs just knew he wouldn't be allowed to even contemplate leaving having just appointed MON, but we'll have a tough time keeping him in the summer.

He does look happier and happier in the shirt, the way he ran to the fans tonight, and the blowing kisses, that's new, hopefully he's bonding!

    He's just awesome.

The guy is a class act. HBA is a decent player but I don't think he wins matches and changes games like Sess

I just don't see another player with Sess skills and flair that works so hard.

He's so involved in everything, he is simply phenomenal.

I don't think Ben Arfa is as vital to our team though. While Sess is the better player currently, he's a bigger miss to Sunderland's team. Ben Arfa has the potential to be better, but right now, it's down how much he wants to fulfill it.

Sessegnon was very average tonight but that's what he can bring to the party. A moment of quality to win a tight hard fought game, even when he is off colour.

Maybe this will be reflected again in the derby. A moment of quality from either side will settle it.

I seen the game and although he wasnt terrific he still had a good game, everything goes through him though, every single attack, you better pray he doesnt get injuries because hes the real driving force behind the great run your on.

Rooney is much better than Sessegnon and Tiote had Rooney in his back pocket all game when we beat them 3-0
If everything goes through sess, then expect Tiote to have him in his back pocket also

This is what I like. Literally everything seems to go through Sessegnon, so Sunderland are heavily relying on him. On the other side, we're doing so well even without arguably our most creative and technical player.

I do agree that Sessegnon is the more complete player though. HBA isn't, and that's why he isn't getting in the side yet despite his immense talent.

Sessegnon is playing in an attacking postion where he has alot of license to create, freedom and doesn't have to track back, Ben Arfa isn't getting that from Pardew, another thing I noticed Sessegnon lost the ball alot yesterday does he get taken off at Half Time? NO If everything was going through Ben Arfa like Sessegnon you would see Ben Arfa shine don't write Ben Arfa off he will come good.

Pardew was at the Boro match last night, no doubt he'll have been making plenty of notes and running the eye over that boro defender.

Maybe time to re-open this debate after today. Delighted by Ben Arfa's impact and Sunderland fans might disagree but I thought he totally outshone you're fella today.

Sess was best player on the pitch first half, you had to foul him to stop him. Ben arfa was the best on the pitch in the second tore ricco a new one.

Imo i think Sess is the best player in the NE.

Ben Arfa was sensational. Mignolet's save stopped a goal of the season contender
