We should be looking to win this game in midfield - as notso said, we need to reduce service to Ba and Cisse (Ba in particular looks almost unstoppable at the moment).

Ideally Van der Vaart and Lennon will be back for this, which will offer us an out-ball to move forward and pace on the wing respectively.

With their injuries to Tiote and Cabaye (along with probably Taylor), we should be looking to dominate the MF, and use Bale and Lennon to get at their full backs.

We CAN win this match - Newcastle have been good value lately and we need to respond effectively.

Today's verdict should give us a nice morale boost ahead of the weekend :)

At least we'll see a standing ovation for someone who deserves on, as opposed to Monday night where we witnessed one for someone who certainly doesn't.

Harry mentioned earlier how emotional he got hearing the fans singing his name throughout against Wigan. I imagine that Saturday will be some day for him!!

I think you'll **** on us. Teams have loads of chances against us but no one to score. We need a defensive masterclass and Ba and Cisse need to take chances if they come.

Where has this Geordie pessimism come from?
I thought you'd all fancy taking on anyone this season, seeing as you've done so well so far.

We are doing well in the league HOWEVER, you are probably the best team we have played in a while. Lesser teams have had chances against us and not taken them. You will and as such will most likely defeat us in a big way. We will score but so will you. 4-2 is my prediction

What worries me is that your strike-force is looking far more potent than ours at the moment, Adebayor cannot buy a goal and seems to have every linesman in the country against him, and Defoe has only really been effective as a substitute. In contrast Ba is the best striker in the league at the moment and if Cisse's debut is anything to go by he will score goals for you. Liverpool managed to create a lot of chances against us and if it weren't for Carroll being a donkey and Suarez being rusty would surely have beaten us. I'm optimistic of a win, but I think it might be a close, and high scoring affair, 4-3 Spurs for me.

Goona be tough, gonna be emotional. I think the atmosphere will be the best the Lane has seen all season, possibly Arsenal excepted.

I'm gonna miss this game :( - gotta go to work...

I don't think it'll be 4-3 Spurs WY, especially as you just said we're struggling to score <laugh>

If we can keep Ba, and the service to him, restricted I think we'll win - if not, we'll struggle in my opinion.

It's because your team has all of the attributes which we find an issue.

    - We play a high defensive line, so two of the fastest wingers in the league could cause a ****load of problems
    - We often rely on our first class CM pairing to out-do the oppositions midfield, but not only do you guys have a class CM force, but we're missing our two best CM players, so it's a double blow

I'd be more confident if it was at SJP as I think we could give you guys a run for your money. However, with the side you have and the home advantage at WHL, it's gonna be a tough, tough game.

But with Ba and Cisse firing on all cylinders, who knows. I expect service to them to be stunted slightly (it would be the wisest gameplan) but we WILL get through at some points, so it's all down to the striking duo to take their chances when they come. 2 or 3 chances could be two or three goals if we play our cards right.

Over the ****ing moon with a win, delighted with a draw. Fortunately we have a tendency to step up against the tougher teams (compared to frequently underestimating the weaker sides). We seem to thrive on being the underdogs, so I think we'll put in quite a good shift.

Is it certain Ba and Cisse will start? In ways I want them to, because it's rare for teams to go conventional 4-4-2 at us at home. Often, it's a lone striker, and 'stifle the mid' time.

Most teams try to avoid it since they witnessed Liverpool's performance at WHL, don't they?

Yep, PNP. It'll be risky to play two out and out strikers. Then again Toon, would probably stuff the mid with 'battlers and pressers' to compensate. Gonna be fascinating to see how this one plays out.

There are only two places available in the centre of the park for the next game, lads.
Whoever wins the ball first gets one of them.
