http://www.leedsunited.com/news/20120208/redders-given-extended-period-chairman_2247585_2604094 Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Beginning to look more like Bates didn't plan on sacking Grayson, doesn't it? I must confess that I expected someone to be lined up. Now I'm not so sure.
I cant believe bates spent ages talking about how important it is to get a new manager whos wife is willing to help out. dirty old man
I can't believe he actually had the cheek to comment on the BBC not spending money on Britain... the man lives outside the country so he doesn't have to pay taxes. Horrible, horrible little man.
I don't know what we need, I honestly don't. I still think it won't make a blind bit of difference who we sign.
great move papa (for you anyway !) no compensation to any other club, its now to late for someone new to make an impact this season, once again we show no ambition, are we suprised ? NO !!!!!
I agree Marko. Bates will probably go for the cheaper option of Redfearn. But whoever takes over will still have to work with the same players that underplayed for Grayson (whatever the reason was) and if they all started playing like Barcelona it would be an insult to Grayson. It's a win win for Uncle Ken unfortunately.
I agree, have my doubts he would be the right man, but you never know whether someone is a good manager until they are given a chance. That said if I was a Leeds fan, I would want someone who is proven like Warnock.
Bates doesn't give a ****e though. Like I said on another thread, I hate warnock, but boy would he sort the prima donnas out and hopefully stand up to bates.
Getting our asses kicked at this point in the season wouldn't matter, as we're 5 points off the generally accepted safety mark with 17 games to go and we'd have to lose at least 13 of those to not make that total. We're safe in the Championship for another season so Bates has no reason to give a **** about the outcome of the latest appointment.
We need a Manager at the top of his game. We need an honest Manager capable of taking charge of a big team. He's free, honest, & has some experience of a reasonable sized team. Will Papa Smurf now approach Harry, as he's now free to pursue his career?
say what you like about Bates but the guy is not stupid! He might just be waiting to see what is happening at Wolves. I envisage them struggling to stay up this year. In that case, McCarthey might just be on the radar. Can't say I would be too keen on that myself because I don't think the guy can attract any half decent players but you could not get a more honest, hard working manager who may be able to get the best out of an average squad. I reckon he would be cheaper than some of the others as well and does not seem to mind working with a limited budget. He has the right profile alright.
