Listening to Talkshite this morning, there seems to plenty of people believing that, should Capello go, Rafa would be the perfect individual to take England to the Euros. Even Chelski fans were acknowledging Benitez's ability to perform in competitions... Any thoughts...? GKRK
He has all the credentials, I think there would be an uproar if the next England manager wasn't English though. Besides, Rafa never truly got the praise he deserved while in charge of Liverpool
To be fair, the discussion was around Rafa as the manager for the Euros only, on the basis that Capello may be out of a job this aft.... A stop-gap, as it were. GKRK
The FA won't do that. Because with Rafa in charge, England have a chance of actually doing something (note, I didn't say win it!). But what happens if Benitez were to get them to the semis, this would leave the FA in an extremely awkward position - they don't want him but he's been successful.
Rafa would be great as England manager. I can't see it though, The FA aren't exactly fans and I don't think he'll handle the club vs. country politics very well. Rafa likes his players to live and die for his teams and England players (bar Beckham) don't
This ^^ I'd hate it if any genuine, honest guy like Rafa got the job just so the hacks can rip them apart...so my vote goes to 'Arry
Will never happen but hopefully Harry for England will, would be interesting to see if his twitchometer goes off the scale if he was under pressure while managing England.
Would 'Arry be interested? I don't know that England will agree to 5% of all English player transfers going to 'Arry's bank...
Not a great man manager BUT Excellent tactically ( better than Mourinho,Fergie,Wenger tactically ), and very good at making individual players become better players
