This board has gone unusually quiet over the last few days. Depression at last saturdays result has obviously not gone yet.
Just want to ask the question, what do you think would be a good result this weekend? I know that people will automatically say 3pts but i think that Blackburn will be really up for this match. Remember we were bidding for half of their players and some of the management and fans may think we turned Sambas head and caused problems in their camp. This one will not be won easy. All in all I think that an away point would be a good result. Thoughts!!

For me we need 3 points to start getting out of the relagation dog fight and if we cannot get a win at Blackburn where can we? Probably nowhere logically anyway!

So 3 points is a good result, 1 point a mediocre result, and 0 points, we'll be right up to our ears in it.

Cisse or not, we need 3 points from this. The new team should be acclimatising and improving. Hope DJ or HH will be available to partner Zamora. Any news of Diakite?

To be honest, a good performance and a win would be obviously ideal, but even a scrappy performance, all decisions going our way, and a really dodgy win, I would still be very happy. Anything less will be disappointing, and the depression will continue in varying degrees dependant on result and performance. Blackburn will come out fighting, and we will really need to battle hard to win, it wont be easy, but with a real quality, energetic performance, and 110% given by everyone I really feel we should be winning, and at the VERY LEAST a draw. I would take comfort in a draw, but only if the teams around us lose (apart from Blackburn obviously, and we give a quality performance). If the teams around us get results, and we drop in the relegation zone, it will be a long time until the next game. This is a crucial time in our campaign, and we need to put right the wrongs of last week and come out fighting.

I liked the idea that MH seemed to have of playing Adel up front with Zamora myself. Believe Diakite will miss the Blackburn game.

He'll be playing for Mali against Cote D'Ivore in ACoN semi final today, and still got a game on Feb 11th (3rd place match) if lose, Feb 12th (final) if win

You're right, I forgot that was what was proposed. Could work. As Brix said, I can't remember seeing Adel heading a ball in the box. May be that's what he's been working on this week!

Only 3 points will do, don't care if it's a **** performance, don't care if it's a dull 0-1 win with the goal coming off Hulse's backside, ONLY A WIN WILL DO!!!

Anything less than 3 points and I will start planning my finances around a reduced price season ticket for the Championship.

I've been hoping Hulse's backside would score for years - we did get one from his knee if I remember rightly. In fact, that's the only one I remember

If DJ is fit I'd rather see him upfront partnering Zamora, on paper it's a combination that could work well. Personally I'm not convinced about Adel as a striker and would rather see him making things happen from midfield where he'll see more of the ball.
Whatever team we put out we need to take 3 points from this one. <ok>

Do you remember the goal Adel scored against Watford last April? A real strikers finish that. He's had 5 or 6 in the aluminium this season, I'd like to see him getting in the box more, better chance they'll go in then. Also playing off Zamora he could be still see a lot of ball and get things happening by getting back for it and setting up the wide men, and Zamora. This option could give us more room to play a more solid, defensivly stong midfield as well which is required I think.

In view of the other games this weekend we must avoid defeat at all costs. Blackburn have some quality players in their team and will be fired up for this one, especially after Saturday's disaster. I expect us to go for it as it's an opportunity to put some daylight between us and some of the other strugglers, but I have a feeling we'll end up with a draw...

It has certainly been quiet but not unexpected...I've had my Dad on the phone this week utterly depressed saying he'll give up his season ticket because it's too depressing to watch...however, for me, this weekend obviously I want to see a win and 3 points...but more than that I'd like to see some authority shown by QPR. Authority to hold onto the ball and pass it around, authority to boss the flow of the game, and authority to stamp out any plans Blackburn have.

Having said that...given a scrappy 0-1 win coming from an own goal and I won't complain come 5pm on Saturday.

Nothing less than a win after seeing them torn apart by the Arsenal last week. They are terrible.
