Jammy - If we had kept hold of the lead till halftime I would have won £2k - £800 is just a commiseration prize
A) you're still up. B) you'd have won 3 grand, holding onto the lead at half time and going on to win would have seen both your bets win.
Website confirms Redders now in change for next three games at least. We're currently 2 pts off 6th & 7pts off 2nd. All 3 games are more than winnable. We've got most of the squad fit & Redders seems to have their backing. Just what could we still achieve this season? WUMs need not respond!!!
Three game trial period for Redfearn, no doubt. Gives Bates the chance to deflect criticism onto him if he gets off to a storming start as caretaker manager and then faulters when it's extended or made permanent. I've got a very bad feeling about this appointment.
Let's see how we are after the next three games 18. After last Saturday, Redders is half a point up. We were expected to win before the game started, & that expecation was made significantly easier after two Brizzle players were sent off. The dressing room seem to like him, which helps his being half a point up. What will help his case is a solid performance & 3pts against Brighton. As I said, let's judge him after the next three games.
Im not being funny but the way we played for the first 60 mins at Birmingham Grayson wouldve won all 4 games! Bates is a prick
To be honest, I think any shaven monkey could pass off as a caretaker manager and win three games. Look at what a start Concrete Carver got off to with us and how that ended up. The players feel a sense of freedom and exoneration and play better than they had. But when the appointment is confirmed, we'll see the real Neil Redfearn - the one that failed with such behemoths as Halifax, Scarborough and Northwich. If we don't take this appointment seriously and appoint someone who's a distinct improvement on Grayson, we've moved backwards. That's why I think it'll happen. It's what Bates is best at.
get rid of Beckford sign Paynter = Backwards get rid of Gradel sign Pugh = Backwards get rid of Kilkenny n Johnson sing Mika n Brown = Backwards get rid of Howson sign Delph for a month = Backwards get rid of Grayson sign Redders = Backwards Anyone see the trend?
The players may well be supportive of Redfearn but they're hardly likely to say they want someone else as manager. Whilst Redfearn picks the team the players will always say positive things about him. Also by having Redfearn in charge it allows them to stay in their comfort zone. The majority of the first half at Bristol there was no difference to the team's performance than under Grayson, it still took us forty minutes to get going. The players know that with a completely new man in charge, a hard task master, they'd need to up their game to impress him & to stay in the side. To some that probably seems too much like hard work. The appointment of Redfearn would be the easy option not only for Bates, but for the players as well.
TC, as you're now a potential investor, how about bunging KB £50 to buy us a new player? Should still have change out of that for a few beers, a bag of crisps and the bus home afterwards?
Why did they want to leave though? There was a time where Leeds United in the Championship would be a better prospect than a lot of the teams in the bottom half of the premier league. Bates has turned us into a nothing club where no one wants to play.
Redfearn shouldn't be manager. We should get in an experienced, proven manager. We had Dennis Wise (unproven) and got relegated. We had Macca (unproven) and missed out on promotion. We had Grayson (still learning when he took over) and we eventually got promoted and then missed out on the playoffs last season. Get someone who's proven at getting results at this level, and can work with some of the talented players we have. We can make the playoffs this season! So why waste 4 games of that with Redfearn? Warnock is available.
Aye, s'why they don't let you stay with 'the boys' when you're promoted in the army. If Redfearn can transform himself into 'The Boss' quick-time, then maybe he'll have a chance, but it all sounds a bit cosy to me
Because Redfearn is cheap. Money is first priority, everything else isn't considered and is just a "nice bonus" if it turns out well by accident.
