Not606 is dying.

You talk some ****e. Just because some Newcastle lads have left, does not mean that this forum is declining.The Newcastle board is declining but not the whole forum.

 

This and the fact that one subforum does not a forum make (even if the subforum is the busiest) & not606 will go from strength to strength.

 

I moved for several reasons.

1) There were too many posters and lots of OT threads mixed with the football, making what should have been a simple experience of looking for articles on our board impossible!

2) not606 should be about having crack with other boards. But I (and many other members) found it impossible to post on the Sunderland board without being confronted with a torrent of unnecessary abuse from, sadly, only about 3 members. Most of the Mackems are canny lads, but this minority seems to drown everyone else out, making every discussion personal and unpleasant. I'm referring to the likes of MackemsRule, AmsterdamRoger and occasionally Cestria, who completely killed whatever vibe there was between the two boards imo. I'll stress again though, 99% of the Mackems were fine.

3) GC child pornographers just aren't worth the bother. These twats shouldn't be posting on a football forum with children viewing, but they weren't dealt with so there you go.

I'm going to continue using both forums, but tbh I was using not606 less and less anyway, for the above reasons.

Have to disagree with this thread. Mick is running a good website and I know full well that the main reason most people are using another forum is because there was need for more room to spread out the huge number of threads and to have infinite off topic chat of our own in our own place. This doesn't necessarily mean people are pissed off nor does it mean people will be leaving here for good, people can choose to post wherever they wish - they're all just websites after all.

People are being a little over dramatic too, this board still has plenty of members and just because some have decided to post elsewhere does not mean it will have any major effect on this site as a whole.

I'd rather thank the guy for running the place than say 'Sorry' to him after a generalised tirade, Tash.

Although I understand that perhaps this thread may be deemed unnecessary I do happen to agree with you on this one Tash.

Not banning people for some of the stuff that was posted on here was completely inexcusable and no-one can debate that.

A mistake, but most likely not one that will have too great a consequence on you and your site - just lost a lot of good'uns.

1) Too many posters? Bit odd, is having many different posters not the point of a forum. The OT topics on the Newcastles board ARE the NUFC board mods perogative, if they were bothering you it IS their fault for not locking etc.

2) Well if decent conversation with mackems is what you wanted you still wont be getting that on the sheltered new site

3) I have seen GC post some really close to the bone stuff but child porn I have yet to see

It was Mick and not606 that brought us all together in the first place and how many hours have we spent in each others company talking about our team? All enjoyable hours with some great input from almost everybody. We might all go our seperate ways but the not606 memories will stay with us forever.

Agree with Tash. In a week, over 100 users left, many never to return. Mick even admitted the site is blocked at HIS OWN PLACE OF WORK...........because of sick porn. Nothing else.

Too little was done too late............Not606 will still go on , just without the previous largest contingent of posters.

 

Remember a thread like this on the Liverpool board. The ****er stayed after all the Liverpool fans changed his mind with cringe worthy comments and the guy was so embarrassed that he had to make another account in order to return because he did not want to look like an attention seeking ****.
