Perhaps the club will let it lie when the sensationalist press and the ill-informed lynch mob that follow them do likewise.
I understand perfectly that you have a different point of view- I would expect nothing less than you take the side of your player, so why do we get pilloried for doing the same?

And the more we're criticized for it, the more we'll dig our heels in.

Eric, you're a pretty sensible poster on most topics when its a serious matter, and racism is a serious matter. Any time you want to contribute to this thread, I'd personally welcome it, regardless of whether I agree with it.

The ones I don't welcome are the ones who wade in with the KKK ****. But even they have to visit if we are to explain our viewpoint to them, and how we do not believe that justice was served by this case.

This has all been a clusterfuck and the sooner this season is over and Euro's the better I say. This is just farce after farce ( Suarez was naive and got busted, served his ban done, but the process? Doesn't sit well).

The thing with Terry is nuts as it is practically the same thing as Suarez but everyone and their mother are defending him, even though there is evidence, video evidence, of him saying that. I wonder how quick the Liverpool fan that got caught on video/pic got fined/put in jail/ whatever the process is there?

Anyway, my two cents, and KE deserves more than the serious stick <yikes>

Don't you remember the appalling abuses in football in the seventies? That is enough reason to oust racism from football.

It doesn't belong anywhere and it shouldn't be tolerated on the pitch neither. Do you want to return to the 'good old days' of monkey noises and the throwing of bananas onto the pitch?

None of them were going to play for England.

But we digress, the only likely candidates for England boss who are actually English are 'Appy 'Arry, so long at the jury find in his favour, Pards, and Hughton - Mick McCarthy, despite being English, isn't really in the running as his teams are completely uninspiring, serving up turgid tufa...

Back in their day Aldo,Lawrenson and Sheedy were all good enough for England.

What about Big Sam for the England job - not saying I'd want him in the job but maybe a contender.

Of course not! Listen I am not standing up for John Terry. (He is guilty and what he did is disgusting).

However we are reaching a period in which footballers are not being judged based on there performances anyone, but based on how good of a person they are! I feel the amount of control the press have over these situations and how they effect a players career is crazy.

The point is. I'd rather the England Team go into the finals of the world cup with the best team available and everyone to choose from. Not just the players that have passed the media's / The FA's personality test.

Maradona was a bit of a ****... What would of happened if he never played for his international team...

Yes, that Capello is a genius. Taking Emile Heskey and Shaun Wright Phillips instead of Adam Johnson and Darren Bent was a stroke of genius, so was taking Gareth Barry instead of Scott Parker. The guy got 2 goals in 3 games in a group that contained Slovenia, Algeria and the USA for goodness sake. Capello was a decent manager, but lets not beat about the bush. He's been shocking when its mattered for England, and he's cocked up on virtually every big issue he's been confronted with. The goalkeeper issue in the world cup, the captaincy debacle, the world cup squad selection and the choice of striker.

From the point of someone who couldn't give a **** about the English national team, I agree with the above. Capello has been terrible.

There are enough quality English players to win a big comp, the right manager is the problem. Capello is not it and England have no chance in the coming competition.

Do they have big enough footy pitches in Wormwood Scrubs to accomodate England matches?

I don't think it matters. Capello is a useless England manager because he, like many others before him can't get this current/old crop of players (Gerrard, Rooney, Lampard, Terry, etc) to play to their potential. I don't even see why Capello's obsessed with making Terry captain. There are plenty of other leaders who could/should be in the England squad.

I really think the manager doesn't make a difference until you get rid of all of those older and overrated players and start playing the younger generation from now. It started to pay off with our Welsh squad after a while of tinkering and finding the best system.

Make players like Dawson/Rodwell/A. Johnson/Walker/Jones/Henderson and others who escape my brain starters.

In fact I'll have a little look and see what young yet talented team I can make which I think would actually perform better, or at least look like they're giving it a go...

    -----------------------Hart----------------------------
    Richards-----Dawson/Jones-----Smalling----Johnson
    --------Rodwell-----Wilshire-----Henderson-------
    ---------Sturridge----Welbeck----Walcott----------

That's a damn good team made almost entirely of kids, and you've always got the older heads of Bent/Jagielka/Downing/Rooney?/Cahill/Young and others when absolutely necessary.

And there are a few younger ones left over... Walker/Cleverley/Lennon and I'm sure there are more to find over the next couple of years.

Yes, they may fall at the first few hurdles, but they'll all grow together and in a few years will all be better players for it.

P.S. Apologies if I missed anyone
