To be taken from the daily thread or separate threads? I think I'll just stick with my one 50/1 shot, that way I'm guaranteed a good return
Does my 'tricast' for the King George count? The sodding tricast paid £18.90 but the trifecta paid £22.80! I'll give Stick his 33/1 on Makfi. That was one hell of a shout.
In terms of actually having money on a horse I've had 2 66/1 winners. That's as good as it gets for me, one was in a 6 horse grade 2! The other was 100/1 when I backed it but i took SP
Ron, I'm not sure I like the idea of more outsiders being tippped , but I'll have an ambitious punt at it.... Tote Gold Trophy. Get Me Out Of Here 20/1 ante-post(various)
Hardy Eustace at 33s for his first Champion Hurdle and Carlito Brigante at 20s at last years Cheltenham are my 'shining moments'.
During your absence Ron I am proud to tell you that I joined the "Hall Of Fame". I tipped a horse called VELATOR at 20-1 the night before. It was backed down to 4-1, drifted back to 10's and then duly bolted up. Has subsequently won again too but at much skinnier odds!
red I hate to aftertime but seeing as its this occasion I will. sunny red didn't come third he came second, and I know cos I backed them both and did the exacta. since then I've been trying to repeat the dose and have given most of it back.
Chesneywold - Looks like you had a better day of it than me... Had a great time and have been back to Ayr again, though didnt win as much as we did on this day... Made profit but could have been a lot better had i let my missus play on Colonel Mak...!!! Good call though to get the first 2 past the post... Its been a while since then so Sonny Red placing wasnt the biggest memory from that race, just missing the winner was...!!!
never been to ayr, looks like a decent track. they were both overpriced cos of the bronze cup the day before, people had latched onto the other side, wrongly. didnt see the race til the evening, on a poxy comp with a bad stream. crazy feeling getting such a result.
This is the 20 Plus Club. Where we can discuss all our big priced winners (after timing permitted). That's that solved.
this sounds good, will have to look out for the bigger priced horses next week then. in terms of most money won from a 20/1 or bigger winner then I have to say Silver Birch which I had at 33/1 to win the National back in 2007
What about the 7/4 club, it sounds quite eloquent i must say, plus we can all join! ''Hey guy's i can't make it later, i've got a game of bridge with the guy's at the 7/4 club tonite'' !!
