Fairly simple, can we catch Newcastle Yes or No? They have Spurs and Wolves up next, we have Arsenal and WBA, then we play eachother. Both of us have a few top teams left to play before the end of the season, it could be very close

As I have money on us finishing above them I hope so.
Shame their luck just doesn't seem to be running out.

Our goal difference is excellent though, so maybe just maybe it may end up counting for something.

    NO.

Would love to but you have got to be honest and say they don't look like cracking. They've had a brilliant season up to now. Bastards <laugh>

If we win the Derby then yes i think we can, if we lose the Derby then no, I cant see it.

I said when Bruce was in charge before the Fulham game we would be 4 points ahead of them, but then we lost against Wigan, so that scuppered that.

At this moment in time, I would like to see us pull away from 9th place, get about 6-8 points ahead of 9th then start looking up at Liverpool/Newcastle/Arsenal

I've got to say that the Skunks are on a fine run of form at the moment and that the nine point gap will be just too much to close..However, if we can beat Boro on Wednesday who is to say that we couldn't go on and actually win a trophy, which would far outweigh them finishing above us in the league...

No and as I've said about the Euro's it wrecks your team for very little financial reward

Cant for the life of me figure it out but no they keep getting results. I just hope our form continues. I have never felt less concerned by what is happening down the road than at present and am loving our party with Marty

If we beat Arsenal and WBA then win the derby yes, but I feel any other results and its just a bridge too far. Pardew has bought sensibly and it seems even when they are missing key players like Taylor, Cabeye and Tiote they can still gring out a win. Its 9 points now if we win the 3 games above I think it will be down to about 4 which is doable.

If we win the next 3 game's including the derby yes, chances of that are slim to none though.
Interesting that we have Arsenal, Newcastle and Liverpool in our next 4 game's, the picture will become clearer then. Ironically by catching them we will actually be helping them, with us taking point's off Arsenal and Liverpool.

I think its slightly disingenuous of up to keep calling it luck for the craas lads to be honest.

They rode their luck in the opening 10 games of the campaign For sure but are there on merit now.

If we can catch and pass Liverpool, the mags or Arsenal in the next 14 games, we will have exceeded all expectations from December onwards and where we actually were.

Can it be done? Yes and we do play all 3 in the next 3 or 4 weeks but tbh, I think where we are now is the target as to where we will finish in May.

8th and The FA Cup eh? That would be nice. Lol

Can't see us catching them at the moment....to be honest I don't think they even thought they would do so well this season...if we managed to win the FA cup I wouldn't care if we caught them or not

At least now we are talking might catch them - immediately before Bruce left we were all (I think) of the "I don`t care, we`ll never do it, fingers crossed we don`t go down" mindset...

Now it is a possibility (slim) then it was a pipedream

I can`t see how MON has done what he has done but he`s done it; if we overtake the Mags then MON can do a couple of shuttle runs across the Wear as he`lll genuinely be walking on water then!

Stop being so bloody reasonable. :p
They have been lucky nearly every game apart from against Utd.
    Villa should have hammered them.
There luck has to run out soon.

Still wish we had made more of an effort for Ba mind. :)
