It looks very much like we have the new Andy Cole in the form of Papiss Cisse... anyone else have the same thought?

Early days of course and the modern game dictates that more closing down is required by the strikers, but even so, I was set adrift on memory bliss when I saw Cisse racing around with the #9 on his back! <ok>

Don't think we can judge him yet, but the signs are definetly good.

Lets hope we don't sell him after a season...

We will be in the Champions League so there will be no reason for him to leave <whistle>

Well no, quite. I wasn't judging him off the back of one performance but it actually looked like Andy Cole was back!

He looked lively to say the least and scored a great goal...........but so did Hugo Viana on his debut. Just a thought.

I'm holding back until the end of the season to judge him proper.

Yeah he did look good, despite being awfully offside on a few occasions lol. Reminded me of Darren Bent when I watched him on YouTube, can see similarities.

One game and you cant judge him. Great start and having Demba with him is an added bonus they are going to be immense.

He looked really classy yesterday, some nice skills and good control of the ball. He's pretty fast aswell which is good for obertan, none of our other strikers can keep pace with him cough *shola* cough.

So we are going to have two similar strikers then as Ba is very similar to Bent as well, relies on confidence but knows where the goal is.

Think I posted it on here on Saturday, loved the way the camera man seemed to miss it.

I think if Viana was a young lad now signing for us, he'd be a big hit. He had bags of talent, but never really got the chance in centre mid due to Speed/Dyer/Jenas/Bowyer form

That's because Sir Bobby played his best team no matter what the competition. Speedo and a fit Dyer played every game.

To be fair I think Viana found it difficult to adapt to the English game, as they were glimpses of brilliance but a lot of the time he struggled. Remember him playing brilliantly when we won 3-2 away to Feyernord.

Looked like a cross between Cole and Asprilla for me, long rangey tino-esque legs and Andy Cole style positioning on last defender. I was v impressed, and hopefully he can improve as he gets used to the premiership, the team , and the language.

Ba is absolutely nothing like Bent.
