Sorry, yes footballing terms. I agree with you all, I get no 'buzz' watching England and really don't give two hoots how they do.

Ok, but I bet you and RLGB are down the pub cheering and shouting the day England ever do reach a semi-final or final again. I think most people who say they don't give a hoot about the national side end up being hypocritical if we ever do achieve anything. Yes, England are naff and let us down constantly, but I constantly reach for that flag and hope for a turn for the better

This is the exact reason why so many put their club before their country. We are always being told how great the Premiership is yet we haven't had a good England team for years. If there was a sense of actually achieveing something in the not too distant future people's feelings towards the national team would probably change. As it is you get the impression of players with an attitude of "you are lucky to have me" rather than one of "I'm really proud to play for my country". Not many of them even seem likeable, which wouldn't matter too much if they performed to a decent level but they don't. I struggle to feel any allegiance to the team, which is a sorry thing for an English football supporter to say but I don't think I'm alone.

Having said all that, I might take more interest if we had a Saints player in the England team at some time.

The problem is the England squad is full if overpaid half heads who are more concerned with their bank balance than their pride of playing for your country.

Yes I would watch England if I was with mates or if we were in a competition.

But I just get no buzz from watching them in general.

Do they get paid for playing for their country or do they play for pride .....?
