England coach Fabio Capello may have breached his contract by publicly criticising the Football Association's decision to oust John Terry as captain.

Former FA executive director David Davies told the BBC the FA was taking "the matter very seriously".

Terry, 31, was stripped of the armband pending his trial in July over alleged racial abuse of QPR's Anton Ferdinand.

On Sunday Capello said to Italy's state broadcaster RAI he "absolutely" did not agree with the decision.

Why does it always happen in the run up to a tournament!?

 

Capello is the bloody manager, he should be able to choose who he makes captain of his squad.

And he also makes a very good point. Terry should not be punished before he has even stepped foot in court to defend himself. Innocent until proven guilty should be very applicable here.

He should not be England Captain with this hanging over him.

Doing ANYTHING, or removing anything from him, before the court case has even happened, is a clear-cut case of treating him as guilty before he's even been put into trial. In my view there should be no place for that anywhere in society, especially football.

Whether he can handle the pressure of being captain with this hanging over him should be decided by Terry himself, with Capello the ultimate decision-maker of his own squad.

 

Good if they sack him and he does not get compensation! Terry if he had any sort of honour would have resigned from the captaincy weeks ago.

Don't forget the FA have the facts in front of them, but can't do anything with them before the court case.
