Yeah its a tough one. As the Patriots do you go all out to stop the Giants going ahead knowing that they could run the clock down and score anyway, giving them no time to mount a comeback or do you let them score knowing you can put the ball into the hands of one of the greatest Quarterbacks of all time. Its a risky call and it didnt work out this time, but I know what I would have done!
Not much point in continuimg with this Dutch. It's just going end up with you spouting all the reason why you hate NFL and me spouting all the reason why I like it...............what's the point? It's been done many times and it's boring as it's just about opposite opinions. This thread should be for those who like it and watched the game rather than those who just want to be negative. If you want why don't you start your own thread comparing the two sports that way this thread doesn't have to be ruined.
It's about opinions. If you'd wanted a thread about the game there's a board just for it. Being on here, people are free to express their own opinion. It's not negative, it's just opinion and a bit like pointing out that the emperor's not dressed. Having tried very hard to find an interest in it at various times since the early eighties, I can still only see it as fat blokes talking.
Yeah, you said that already, fair enough. There's no need to start with the "....there's a board just for it", I'm a football fan primarily that just wants to have a little discussion about NFL Superbowl last night. This thread will probably be the only one this year discussing the Superbowl, so it just seems a shame when a fair number of Hull City fans who obviously watched the game and were discussing it, that the thread gets hijacked by people just blandly stating that they don't understand it, that it's shyte, that it's for fat people, that they hate Americans......BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!! The Emperors not dressed, you are right, OK? Now how about not pointing it out any more and let us citizens enjoy admiring his waistcoat.
You're the one doing the hi-jacking. Wind your neck in. We don't all share the same opinions, it shouldn't be much of a surprise, but we're still entitled to them.
Not gonna happen! Were very lucky that Greg Williams is just about the most useless defensive co-ordinator in the NFL or else my Saints team would have won the divisional play off game and played for the NFC Championship also got lucky with not getting called for helmet to helmet shot on Pierre Thomas early on that ruined our game plan. Saints to win the Super Bowl at the Dome next year
Enjoyed the pre-game build up, the half time entertainment (Madonna and Cee Lo Greens duet was superb) and the last 4 mins of the game. But overall it was
The Whitner hit on Thomas was never going to get called! It was unintentional. Thomas lowered his head into the tackle and their helmets collide. Thomas is just unfortunate that it knocks him out! It was a great game, easily the best of 2011. The 9ers D was outstanding and did just enough to slow down Drew Brees. The playcall for Alex Smith TD run in the 4th was quality, but yeah I agree, Gregg Williams didnt come into the game with the best gameplan, I mean matching Vernon Davis against Malcolm Jenkins! You'll be glad he's gone to St Louis then?!
There's something really odd about people in Hull(I realise some posters are in the US), on a Hull City forum, talking about the Super Bowl using US terminology. Can someone drop in some more local terms, like maybe 'he was as good as a pattie', or 'I used to have a helmet like that when I rode my bike through Little Switz'?
Over the moon haha, poor match ups all year and blitzs far too much, worked in 2009 when we had a better D but didn't force enough turnovers all year, hopefully Spagnulo brings new ideas with him so the offence dont have t do it all themselves this year
Little Switzerland! That brings back memories!! Used to love hunting salamaders there when I was a bairn. Phucking bridge!
Urr nurrr. Giants won it with a last thrurrr of the dice. Bet Patriot fans are feeling purrrly now. They'll need another JD and currke. How's that? By the way, loved Little Switzerland too as a kid
I think the whole superbowl thing is a terrifying warning of what will happen to our beloved football if the Americans ever truely fall in love with a proper sport.
I think we're already on that slippery slope with or without them. Games now are punctuated with totally meaningless statistics.
God help us! I think we should send high level lobbyists across the pond to convince them that football is shyte.
With them having the World Series in baseball, despite there only being USA teams in it, do you think the Americans would have their own World Cup?
