Mixed.. Cov 1-1 City 2007/8 Cov 2-0 City 2006/7 Cov 0-2 City 2005/6 the one I recall is this... Cov 3-0 City 1990/1 League Cup.. as I was sharing a house at Uni with a sky blue supporter (the others were Brum & Derby and a welsh bird who wasn't into football), they were then Div 1 and all my house loved calling me a "northerner".. we were outclassed then but not so different now you short-arsed clever clogs Jon! he won't be reading this but nevermind..
Am i correct in thinking we were the first team beat Coventry at the Ricoh when John Welsh netted a double in our first season inthe Championship? Will settle for the same scoreline tomorrow!
yer i was there was hilarious my cousins husband iis a cov supporter and got us platinum tickets in the box through his work, we were cheering city on... and there were other city supporters in the box, wasn;t that the game rickets? got sent off, i know we was down to ten men
Can't remember the exact details of the game, us been down to 10 men does ring a bell but can't remember who got their marching orders.
i knew he got sent off in one couldnt remember which though still should be an easy game tomorrow i think 3-1 fryatt 2 simpson 1
When I think of Coventry, I think of the screaming Jay Tabb incident every time! Hope we win tomorrow, some adventurous tactics might be in order, nothing to lose now!
Correct , we won 2-0, Welsh got both. Got a parking ticket near the ground, the had my car pelted with coins at the traffic lights opposite the Ricoh by Coventry fans drinking in the pub. Great day though!
Tell me about it, Coventry is a serious hole, it's like the gates of hell. Luckily the Ricoh is outside Cov at my side, so I'm there and back in about 20 minutes without seeing sight or sound of the dirty vandalising ****heads that dwell there... I know someone from Cov who robbed his own dad at gunpoint ****ing dirty tramps they are
When I was a student in the 60's i shared a house with the most arrogant, self-oppinionates prat who was a Coventry supporter... I have detested the club ever since then. Having taken on Marlon King has added to that so I am hoping Coventry 0 - 10 Tigers but realistically any win will do
Coventry was the first away game I was allowed to go to on my own. Not literally, there were other people watching, but no parent accompanying. FA Cup 4th round, 71/72: 1-0 win with a goal from Waggy. Went on a special train. Next season we got them away again in the cup the next year (5th Round) and lost 0-3. Highfield Road was (I think) the first all seater stadium in England.
The game they banned "bovver boots" IIRC due to the aggro at the previous meet. Those who thought they would still get in wearing their Dr Marten boots found themselves barefooted in the stands or out on their arris'. I looked ****ing dapper in my platform shoes and face glitter (it was stylish at the time due to a certain David Bowie FFS) This could all be bullshit in my fading memory of course . . . . .
