This has been intentionally in every way stolen from the saints board. Only because i thought it was a good thread and im interested in knowing the same of Leeds Fans so here it is:

Are you a flair player, a nippy winger with a good eye for goal?

A striker that's good in the air?

A no nonsense centre half?

Just interested to know how we all see ourselves?

Also, have you ever done any of the following during a game?

- had a fight with an opponent?
- been sent off?
- intentionally dived?
- scored a Worldy of a goal?
- played against anyone famous?
- have any dirty tactics to put off the oppo?
- ever played at any professional stadiums?
- ever played with or against a past or present leeds player?

This is a very wide and open thread for those that want to share your own stories of the game.

I'll go first I suppose, I started out as a CB when I was younger and really established my self in that position until about the age of 12 or 13. I changed to a defensive midfielder because I had a habbit of scoring goals from around the half way when the corners came out so my coach wanted me to get forward slightly more to have more shots at goal. A year or so later I became an attacking midfield player more so because of this and I then learned how to effectively take on players and beat them, as I got quicker i turned into a winger and occassionally upfront. I then played a year in goal because our goalie got injured and I played the rest of that game in goal and saving a one-on-one was possibly the worse thing I ever did since he decided to keep me in goal. I ended up playing semi-proffesionally for Brisbane City (its in Australia so doesn't really count) as a box-to-box midfielder who could pick a pass and gave it up 2 years ago because of a serious knee ligament injury that i got at the age of 16 and never really recovered from and dont really play anymore

To answer those questions I've been in numerous fights on the pitch (and got sent off because of them). I had a few dirty tactics, used to elbow people in the ribs in boxes and stamp as hard as i could on toes as I walked past. You wouldn't believe how effective that is, gets people making stupid challenges on ya in good positions not to mention them getting yellows and reds for them. I've actually played at St. mary's as well, I was a mascot for leeds at the age of 10, scored against Paul Robinson in the warm-up (although he kinda let it go in)

Hope to read some of your replies.....

I was a dirty little bastard centre mid defensive who got stuck in, then moved to Centre Back because I was a strong header of the ball and tackler better than Odea. then I moved to goalkeeper where I was very good.

- had a fight with an opponent? Plenty of fights, last game got sent off for headbutting someone (got banned for 8 week)
- been sent off?Yes once by dad aswell haha
- intentionally dived?No
- scored a Worldy of a goal?Yes
- played against anyone famous?David Stockdale, Jerome Thomas and that young kid from east is east
- have any dirty tactics to put off the oppo?I used dirty tactics all the time, if you finish a game n the opposition don't notice you where playing whats the point in playing give them some ****!
- ever played at any professional stadiums? No
- ever played with or against a past or present leeds player?

Same as YWBK, DM. Occasionally got played on the wing because I'm quite pacy. Had trials at Watford and Luton a few years back but came to nothing.

- had a fight with an opponent?
I was more the type of player to be responsible for starting the fight, then letting my team mates deal with the situation <laugh>
- been sent off?
More times than I care to mention. I hold county records for the fastest sending off!
- intentionally dived?
But of course...
- scored a Worldy of a goal?
A couple of 25 yarders, nothing truly spectacular though!
- played against anyone famous?
Not that I know of...
- have any dirty tactics to put off the oppo?
Due to my size, playing in the middle of the park, a lot of players take one look at me and think they'll have an easy game. Not really a dirty tactic but I make sure I get the first tackle in and I make sure I hit them hard <ok>
- ever played at any professional stadiums?
Not what I'd call professional!
- ever played with or against a past or present leeds player?
I don't believe I have...

Seems to be a bit of a trend here! I started as left back then went left midfield before settling as the David Batty Anchoring role, but could play anywhere along the back. Only played up front once and hated having my back to the game and not getting stuck in. I now play in goal every week & its a position I am really improving on.

- had a fight with an opponent? Yep. Had a fight in the centre cirlce after a meaty (but fair challenge) and belted the crap out of two players before everyone dived in.
- been sent off? See above, that will do it!
- intentionally dived? No chance. Your be lucky to get a foul at the best of times, and im the wrong side of the pitch usually to be looking for free kicks
- scored a Worldy of a goal? Just last week I caught a half volley in of the angle from just outside the box, stung all the power of the volley to be fair, but it flew in.
- played against anyone famous? Theo Walcotts Cousin is the closest I have come! <laugh> Trained with the hamilton & waterloo team though as part of my managerial devolpment.
- have any dirty tactics to put off the oppo? Not so much as to put them off, usually to hurt them. Standing on a foot and giving them a nudge in the other direction is usually one you can get away with but I'm not shy when it comes to hacking, especially when I get tired!
- ever played at any professional stadiums? Aldershot if that counts?
- ever played with or against a past or present leeds player? Nope!

I started at Left Back but that was when I was young so cant really remember!
Had trials at Leeds and I think Tom Elliot was in the same group as me but again can't remember just know it was a striker of that race (I have no idea whats acceptable to say anymore)

CM - loved a tackle but like to spread it about a bit as well.

A few feyts, mostly with same kid, from same team, twice a season!!
4 reds all together
Once scored from halfwayline for Leeds 606 Team, dunno if any1 else played in that game? And scored a halfwayline volley straight return from a goalkick, then got sent off for taking my shirt shorts & socks off and "klinsmann-ing" all over the field LOL.
Not played Vs any1 famous from what i can remember?
And i played at Milmorr once....so no, never played at a proffesional stadium ;)

Used to play on the right wing, though it was more my pace than skill at taking people on (had a couple of embarrassing trips when trying to shift my weight too quickly and try something clever...) until I got hacked down when I was about 14 and stuffed my knee. It's not too bad, but doesn't react well to been under a lot of stress, so my pacey running days were at an end. Became a keeper for a few years after that and really started to like it but eventually stopped around 17/18 because I was moving away to Uni and didn't have enough time in the day to keep playing regularly.

- had a fight with an opponent? A couple of scraps, showed the guy who messed my knee up exactly what I thought of him anyway...<whistle>

- been sent off? A couple of times, the aforementioned incident and another I remember was a hideous challenge by me in my early goalkeeping days. Bit too enthusiastic and took an awful lot of the striker before realising he didn't have the ball anymore...

- intentionally dived? Yeah, as mentioned I wasn't the best at beating players if I couldn't get a headstart with my pace, so I went down a little easily a couple of times when I was a winger, but who doesn't!

- scored a Worldy of a goal? A couple of decent free kicks, and one completely accidental scorpion style kick from the D.

- played against anyone famous? Never had the chance

- have any dirty tactics to put off the oppo? I was all elbows as a keeper on set pieces!

- ever played at any professional stadiums? No

- ever played with or against a past or present leeds player? No

Played in Midfield most of my footballing days for Ardsley Celtic, Ronnie Radford was the coach/manager, he was the guy who put Newcastle out of the FA cup for Hereford Utd.
Scored a Alan Clarke diving header (FA cup final against Arsenal) in a cup Semi-final which won the game in extra time
Played against Trevor Hockey, Sheff Utd and Wales capt. i thought i was a decent player till i came up against him, he run rings round us and kicked the crap out of me.
Had afew scraps which resulted in early shower time.
Had a kick about with Gordon McQueen one Sunday afternoon in Roundhay park, as he was the brother-in-law to a friend of mine

I started out as a keeper and did quite well, but then got moved to left-back when we got some kid who'd played for Farsley who was pretty unstoppable between the sticks. Been a left-back/defender ever since. I'm an average player really, bit of an Andy Hughes. I do have my moments.

No, never had cause to. Even when I'm playing against some nobhead, I still try and be friendly-ish to them. Don't want to rile them and make them destroy me even more than they probably were doing!

See above. I do pick up a fair amount of yellows, but never been actually dismissed.

NO. That's a ****'s trick.

I scored a decent one a few months back where I legged it down the line and struck it across my body on my left on the half-volley and it flew straight into the far corner. I was pretty proud of that, but I rarely (if ever!) score.

None of those. Played against a few ex-Leeds academy players a bit back, and they were all hench bastards who absolutely outplayed us. Still got a draw out of it

Well... yeah. I'm a serial shirt-tugger and ankle-kicker, and there was one brilliant moment on the pitch when some pacy little **** who'd been skinning me all game was legging it into the box for a corner, I saw the ref turned away and took a couple of calculated steps back so he went straight into me. Flew about 10 feet in the air and landed on the ground with what can only be described as the shriek of a banshee. Last I'd heard, they took him to the Leeds General Infirmary or something. <laugh>

Played Left back at school only because no one else would! I only use my left for standing on.

Joined my local pub side who unsure of my obvious talents played me at left wing, I probably pioneered the cutting in off the wing move, only because I had no choice.

Eventually moved to centre mid, where I won the ball and passed it to my lazier but more skillful midfield partner who sprayed the ball about and got all the glory. I probably covered every blade of grass in every game. I had a bit of a reputation for leaving my foot in and niggling the opponents better players. I don't think I'd last ten minutes in the modern game. ;) Played there for 14 years (Centre mid).

Once the legs and stamina faded, centre back was my position, fortunately my old head was enough to sort out the young whipper snappers up front. Again plenty of chance to niggle players, holding shirts, standing on feet at corners and all the banter that goes with it.

Really miss playing Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings but you can't play for ever, 17 years is long enough.

Fortunately I've made some very good friends out of those good old days and the obvious knackered knees and ankles to go with them.

I played against Gary Ford who played for York City and Lesta and ended up doing the rounds in the lower divisions (yes that Gary Ford!!!) the difference in class was ridiculous. I tried to kick him a few times but he was just a tad too savvy for me to get him properly.

My first club I was at I grew up playing with Travis Beckford (brother of Jermaine). Travis had a preliminary contract with chelsea at the age of around 10 but nothing ever happened with him because his mum pulled him out because she couldn't be bothered to stick with the strict dieting he had to go through. She hated football and had a lot of kids so she wasn't interested in his obvious talent in the game, most who knew about the game said he was going to be better than Jermaine. Only got to see Jermaine a couple of times though but his class was awesome, he used to show off to us 10 year olds about doing around the worlds and that and we were amazed

On the playground I was always the one to play just behind the strikers, although I eventually played the entirety of my brief 7 game career as an out and out striker. Despite 4 goals (I think!) I chose to pursue a career in tennis. I now play badminton. Thats how downhill my sporting career has gone!

Played at right back - later as holding midfielder because I scored a lot of goals from loose balls and never missed the target. That was the upside - downside was that I was horrendous from a disciplinary point of view: quiet off the park, complete nightmare on it.

Never had a fight with a an opponent, but sent off a few times. The last I was stretchered off and sent off at the same time, after an outrageous late 'tackle' went pete tong. Never intentionally dived, scored a real pearl, played with a guy that later went onto Man City - can't remember his name, though.

Can play anywhere in midfield or at right back but my favourite position is cutting in off the left wing. Have been known to play in goal a few times and be a bit of a Kasper Schmeichel, great shot stopper but make too many mistakes.

- had a fight with an opponent? No.
- been sent off? A couple of times for two yellows.
- intentionally dived? Never, I wouldn't know how tbh.
- scored a Worldy of a goal? A few, as I said I like to cut in from the left so get a few shots in from outside the box, but possibly the best I've ever scored was a half volley from the half way line which caught the 'keeper completely off guard and flew straight over him.
- played against anyone famous? Nah.
- have any dirty tactics to put off the oppo? Not apart from a few hard tackles.
- ever played at any professional stadiums? No.
- ever played with or against a past or present leeds player? No.

Well I have tried a lot of different sports. Started as a swimmer then Football, wrestling, kyokushinkai Karate, Handball etc
In football I started as a CB, went then on to play as LB and RB depending who was available. But mostly at LB. As I grow older I got more up the field and played as LW as I had a bit pace. Also here I played a bit as RW depending who was available. I then went on to play as CM and S.
Did also play in goal in school tournaments, but never in the league.
I would say I was more a box to box player, always liked to get involved in the game making myself available for passes.
Have never played against any famous or any Leeds player ;)
I never got a single card and never fought anyone. Actually that is not completely true :). When I had decided that I was not going play anymore football. I figured I had to do something about that and I did. Well at least I tried as hard as I could. Those to poor boys that was closest to me I elbowed in the stomach, in the ribs and steps on their feet. But nothing happened. I then went after another player and kicked him as my life depended on it. He was flying thru the air crash-landed in to the gravel outside the field. The ref came jogging over to me and said I had to take it easy turned and went. I was sure I was going to get a red card, didn’t even get a yellow one. Bye now I was hell-bent on getting that card. So when the ball vent over the sideline I run after one from the opposition that was going to get the ball. 10 yards outside the field I kick him so hard he got a beautiful arc nose-diving in to the ground with his face first into the sand. I was sure he couldn’t have any skin left on his face after that dive. The ref again came running over to me and gave me……………………….you can never guess what he gave me. He gave me a ****ing yellow card!!!!<steam> I gave up trying for the red card, I figured I had to actually kill someone to get it.
