Funny enough, the 2 best strikers in the division years ago were Brooker and Paynter and we signed Brooker who was an all round quality striker until we buggered his knee. Billy Paynter scored a LOT of good goals for PV and Swindon, what did you guys do to him....?
He scored 1 good goal for us. In fairness to Billy he formed a decent big man/ little man partnership with McCormack towards the back end of last season, but he seems to have completely forgotten where the goal is.
Before he scored his only league goal for us he'd been coming ridiculously close to scoring. He'd have shots blocked off the line, fantastic saves, hit the post. It just wasn't working for him, but even when they're been unlucky, at that stage of the season you can't miss chances like that, out and out strikers are rated on their amount of goals. Obviously you have some who are there to work for their partner in striking. Another striker had to be given a chance. Hard worker though. When he gets to full speed he's like a f**king rhino.
