"He reminds me of Oliver Cromwell. The Lord Protector banned everything to do with fun and entertainment and he also banned football."
No, he's currently employed but the fans have only liked him in short phases but they tend to be the bits the media pick up.
Nope. Another clue. "What sort of reaction would we get if we managed to force him out of the club? (I'm not throwing my hat in either way) But how do you think we'd be hailed.? Credit for casting off our unstylish tag? Or pilloried for being ungrateful?
I just went for Grayson because he banned twitter at Leeds. And I can imagine they probably moan about him because they have a god-given right to be in the PL.
We have a winner. I do laugh when I see people holding them up as an example of how to do things. They're questioning whether the chairman should give him any more money to spend given the millions he's spunked up the wall for a collection of individuals played out of position. The towel things been added to now with them being accused of only clearing the snow from their goal area and creating confusing lines at the Sunderland end. One of the most fickle sets of supporters in the leagues. Even the 'noisy fans' thing was a fiddle. Interesting how many assumed it'd be Pearson. I hadn't thought about him.
Promotion to the Premier League, consolidation, a Wembley FA Cup final and European football against Besiktas, Dynamo Kiev and Valencia - I don't like Pulis, but I ****ing hate those Stoke ****s.
It's hard to believe just how the fortunes of both clubs have differed since we both went up to the premier league in the Summer of 2008.
I only see this divvies comments when people requote him 'shows what can happen when you stick by the man who got you there' - i.e. financial ruin and the likes of Bullard infesting our club
Strangely enough I can remember an upturn in their from coinciding with a drop in ours in early 2009. They haven't looked back since. Unfair to compare the two clubs though as Golaccio's point illustrates and the clubs were already heading in the opposite direction in the final months of Brown's reign. I very much doubt we'd have achieved what Stoke have had Brownie still been here, and whether we'd be in the premier league is another matter but i'm not gonna open that can of worms again!
Exactly right. While we were riding high in 4th place in the country they were bottom of the league and looking absolute dead certs for relegation. The they signed Beattie, had a cracking run in the January just as we went absolutely t1ts up. Funnily enough I remember an on pitch scuffle at west Ham between Ricardo Gardener and their captain (was it Higginbottom? total guess) and after that it sort of galvanised their squad. I also have to say, Pulis comes across as a complete tool sometimes but having met him on many occasions in a professional capacity he is the complete opposite of what i expected. I thought he'd be a slightly less offensive Warnock but he is charming, softly spoken and self effacing. Top bloke.
Pulis is one of the nicest football managers i've ever met, i totally top bloke. Considering i've worked at the hotel where most away teams stay for the last 5 years i have a decent amount of them to compare him too. Bryan Robson's a **** Roy Keane nearly got in a fight with our head chef over green tea Malky McKay is the biggest human being i've ever met (nice bloke though) And Holloway is still saved on my phone having a topless playfight at 3 in the morning with one of our residents (back when he was at leicester) but i won't be posting the video
