Kenny looks crocked out there with little movement. Minutes played per Goal Conceded Cerny - 64 Kenny - 48 Save % Cerny - 75.00% Kenny - 58.82% Cerny has clearly looked better and theres lots of goals where Kenny could have done better. 3 out of the 5 games Cerny played in were Arsenal, Man U and Liverpool as well.
Thinking just the same. I thought he could have done better for Villa's first goal in the week and yesterday seemed to be rocking back on his heels with both Wolves goals. Contrast this with Cerny's efforts at Anfield where he kept us in the game at times.
Sadly, I don't think either of them are up to Premiership standard. In the past Cerny has looked awful, very stiff, little movement and poor distribution, however he did produce some good performances earlier in the season, particularly against Liverpool. I thought Kenny would be OK for the Premiership but now I'm not so sure, and I think he could have done better for the goals conceded in the last few games. Having sad that, providing we can keep our outfield players on the pitch for 90 minutes, I think (pray) there is now enough quality in front of them to keep us up.
Cerny does very little training according to NW due to injuries he is only at the club because he is a good servant and we needed an experienced back up. Was very disapointed when he took the number 1 jersey from Lee Camp under Dowies reign.
The same camp who is pissing off forest fans and helping them down to L1? Cerny was and is better than Camp. Hes also a much, much better professional than Camp.
I agree with this. Although Kenny has his moments, I cannot say I have ever been a big fan of him. Whether its his reflexes or him looking like he has a lack of agility im not too sure. Im not really an offensive person, but the opponents seemed to think the same when I heard the croud at one of the games shout as he was about to take a goal kick "ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... you fat ba****d"
Kenny was ok when fit, certainly not a top 6 PL goalie as Warnock said. However hes got pretty bad and his movement is really limited and for the rest of the season, I think Cerny is the better option and then Id buy another goalie in the summer and have Kenny as backup. I also hope were safe by the end so Cerny can play the last game if hes going to retire. He deserves it.
How can you compare the minutes played when Cerny has played about 4 games and paddy the rest! Obviously Cerny will have a higher percentage of saves as he has had less saves to make!
I just think it's a flawed argument, Cerny has played what? 7 games in two seasons, any comparison is skewed. I remember the Leeds match and he was dreadful, Kenny commands the defence better, Cerny is marginally the better shot stopper, both can be suspect on crosses. We're stuck with them the rest of the season so we'll just hope they perform at their best. I wouldn't be surprised if all three keepers go at the end of the season if we stay up.
Cerny has looked a lot better than Kenny, Kenny is injured and has let in a lot of suspect goals, basically anything in the corner will go in because Kenny is not mobile enough to get there. If anything the stats should favour Kenny since Cerny has played the more difficult teams, the stats are for this season only.
Hughes is very much a 'stats' man, he'll use the info and see them in training, if Cerny looks the better bet I'm sure he'll be picked...
I can't really make my mind up about who would be better to play...but I do think we have more to worry about than who plays out of Cerny and Kenny!!
