how its cold and wet outside, snow on the ground, country is ****ed, times are very hard for many, Osca had me out before 5 today, bills going up, income going down, no striker bought, some big players out injured, BUT............

I am sitting warm and happy, big grin on face, not that bothered how upset Mr Pullis and many Stoke fans are, looking forward to Wednesday night then the visit of the gooners.

    Why is it so?

Because we are all having a bit of Marty time.

This is not the usual roller coaster Sunderland ride, its a bloody rocket launch.

We are just not used to this kind of form. 7 wins in 10 games. Fortress SOL. Dangerous away. Scoring spectacular goals and defending well with clean sheets.

Above all, players, manager and fans are playing with smiles on our faces.

    Incredible turnaround.

Get your spoons out, and your combs with tissue paper. Forget New Orleans - maybe it's Marty-gras time, Sunderland-style?

MON has made the best start by any Sunderland manager in 100 years, that was before we spanked Stokes poor sad old cheating bitter smelling arse,

He is asking the players questions and they are giving him the correct answers, for me Bardsley was a driven man on Wednesday he wanted an assist as minimum - he is working his magic on each member of the team, getting them to believe in themselves and him.

I just hope Marty keeps his focus and his passion grows, he is doing what Clough did at Forest - for Robertson read Larrsen, Birtles could be Campbell, Keane see Mclean, Frank Clark look at O'Shea, Brown when fit - Des Walker, however the team spirit and tactics are fantastic.

This could, just could be O'Neill's defining moment in his career, Ellis will give him funds and he will spend the money sagaciously - eyebrows maybe raised initially - he will ask us questions as supporters, do we trust his decisions, tactics? - the results from the team will be the answers - will not be 100% - but if it remains higher than average we will be doing okay.
