All successful teams have it and all unsuccessful ones crave it.

Players with pace cost lots of money and demand big wages. Just look at Bale. Reported that Barcelona are lining up a record bid for a British player this summer and its primarily his amazing pace they want to buy. Take his pace away and he is just a canny player. Add the pace and he becomes world class. Michael Owen was the same. Take away his pace and if has just vanished from view.

We have McClean, Richardson, Sessegnon and Campbell with natural blistering pace and Mon has said all summer recruits will add to that.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Mon team come together over the next year or so and to see some more pace in the team. We look a good team now so imagine what we could look like in another 6 months?

My only concern is how much is available in the modern economic climate to actually bring these more costly players and who will or may be sacrificed in order to get them?

Agree with pace and its great to watch however the likes of Sheringham, Robbie Keane RVP etc weren't fast just intelligent. They had the knack of being in the right place at the right time.

Elmo is pretty pacy but end ball usually naff.

As for sacrifices lets leave that to the man that matters. Trouble is I think we have a bloody good squad now with only 1 or 2 exceptions so anybody sacrificed imo would mean another team getting a good player.

pace is a very big part of modern day football and over the years we have not really ever had a pacey team, since I have been watching the lads anyway.

With footballers in the modern day being athletes and the premier league being renowned as being a very fast and physical league we certainly need to address more pace into the side.

MoN's style is counter attacking football and the quicker you get the ball forward the quicker you can cause the opposition a problem, we have the likes of McClean, Richardson, Sessegnon and Campbell who can all shift but I think we need to inject more pace and flair into the side.

A couple of quick full backs and someone to add pace and flair into the central midfield in the summer will really improve our one paced central midfield.

Taiwo who has gone to QPR would of been fantastic, he is as strong as an ox and can move across the ground. It seems as though the African players are the best who hold these qualities so maybe a few more?
