This about somes him up for me, delighted for the lad and hopefully MON will get the best out of him and bring him on. He is raw and hasn't any fear and in my opinion will become a real fans favourite. Some say he needs to be cuter and read the game better but then he can produce abit of magic which goes to show that if managed properly the world is his oyster. I think Derry may well have clauses in his contract and rightly so, I also believe his local club Trojans benefited from the deal which is great for local football.
When ive seen him play in the few games, he seems to remind me a bit of Milner. Good winger, not too much skill, but has the pace, power and the determination to keep going
Keep it quiet lads or that saggy faced bastard down the road will be after him with a shattering bid of 2 million
Kilbane was **** McLean though is a Throw back, a proper winger, direct, quick, can pass, shoot, cross or dribble. I like his in-experience though, he legs out round tracking back his man, put in a crunching tackle or starting a counter attack, he's been 10/10 so far. Streets ahead of mcgeady.
WATCHING Sunderland destroy Norwich 3-0 the other night, you have to say what a great job Black Cats boss Martin O’Neill is doing. It was the first time anyone had made Norwich look how I thought they might be this season – average. Sunderland just can’t stop scoring goals at the moment either. The players’ confidence is soaring under O’Neill. He really does seems to have the Midas touch, doesn’t he? He does it everywhere he goes. But let’s give some credit to Steve Bruce too. After all, it was he who signed James McClean, and what a player he looks. The Northern Irishman, signed from Derry City, has been one of the surprise packages of the season for me. He takes players on and is an exciting prospect. People may wonder why Bruce didn’t play him every week, but that’s not easy in a struggling side. He’s a young player at 22 and he can blow hot and cold. It’s a lot easier to chuck in a youngster when your team is winning. But credit must go to Brucie for finding him. He was a bargain at £350,000 and, if Sunderland keep going like they are right now, the sky’s the limit for him up at the Stadium of Light. By an alcoholic rat named Paul Merson....
