    Hi all

Been reading 606 then Not 606 for about 2 years now, and decided it was about time I started posting and sharing my 'wisdom' (or lack of).

So, first discussion point, since being relegated a couple of years back who has been our most influential player?

In my opinion I think it has been Nolan, both for his goals and for the team spirit he seems to have had a major part in creating...

    Thoughts...?

In the Championship it has to be Nolan
but this seaosn for me Joey Barton has been our most influential player
I feel that our good performances and our best play comes through Joey <ok>

    Welcome!! <ok>

I think quite simply it has been the team spirit. Nothing has been more important.

Pushed to name a player it would have to be Nolan though.

Yeah Joey has been class this season, and if he hadn't been injured for most of the Championship season he would have had a big impact.

Those two together have been huge for us, on and off the pitch. Although Nolan has been good, would he be in our first choice 11 when everyone is fit? Maybe, but not in centre mid...

    Hi and welcome.

I think that it's between Nolan and Barton.

Both seem to have been instrumental in building and maintaining the brilliant team spirit and togetherness within the squad.
Nolan has been invaluable for his goals and the same can be said for Barton with his assists and man of the match performances.
Tiote has also played a big part this season as has Jose.

Nolan, his goals and leadership are so important, I really like him as Captain.

Barton has also been immense this season and been crucial for us.

Over the two years Nolan has been the most important player but Coloccini and Enrique haven't been far off him. This year Barton and Tiote have been better than Nolan, and throughout 2010 Carroll was our most important player.

    Welcome to the forum <ok>

In terms of ability, Nolan isn't our most influential player, but most definitely is in terms of work rate, team effort, and leadership. He's an excellent captain and his goals are vital, indisputably.

All of the names mentioned above have been massive for the club - Nolan in the Championship/ Barton, Tiote, Jose this season.

However, I must give a huge mention to the often overlooked Mr Steve Harper. Great goalkeeper, consistent as they come and a fantastic servant to the club. I remember him making some great match winning saves last season, particularly in our away games.

Don't rip my head of for saying this, but I think last year it was Alan Smith. He never gave in and is probably the one player we can thank most for the team spirit.
