With the January transfer window passed (a pleasantly non-stressful one for Newcastle fans) what players and positions do you think we will be targeting in summer and who do you think will no longer be a Newcastle player in the 12/13 season? Personally I think a covering CB is vital and I would also like to see us sign a versatile winger.

    INS

    LB: Tremoulinas, Pieters, Cissokho
    CB: Mariappa, Yanga Mbiwa, Douglas
Winger: Hoilett, Zaha, Adam Johnson, Hazard <whistle>
A young (19-23) striker of some description
    Youth Players

    OUTS

A lot of our youth players
    Ranger
    Lovenkrands
    Shameobi
    Raylor
    Guthrie
    Gosling (Loan to Championship)
    Smith
    Kadar

People saying Hazard makes me laugh, do you not realise how good he is?

Shola, Guthrie and Gozza wont leave

    Kadar has already left

Kadar hasn't actually been released, just told to find a new club. He was on the bench at Brighton.

There will be a big upheavel in the playing squad this summer according to Mark Douglas, who is very well informed when it comes to the toon. I really hope im wrong but I cannot for the life of me see Demba Ba staying here next year UNLESS we offer him a massive pay rise, or we actually manage to pull of the impossible and qualify for champions league. We could also lose Tiote.

But I think we all trust Graham Carr and his judgement. I've no doubts he has already pinpointed players who could add real quality to the squad, within the regime's current player recruitment policy.

To be clear I don't want Guthrie to go (I reckon he's class) I just think he might go somewhere else in the PL to get first team football.

Guthrie will go to seek first team football elsewhere, he only has 6 odd months left on his contract remember, and still hasn't signed! he's off i'm afraid.

Guthrie? He's been one of our best midfielders this season, and considering we have tiote and cabaye he's had some competition.
Also why Raylor, yes he's not the greatest footballer in the world, but he's more than a suitable squad player, and saying get rid of him seems very short minded in my honest opinion.
Seems to me you want to get rid of all our a squad players due to the fact that their not amazing, but thats why their squad players, no players who are very talented are going to want to be sitting in the bench. I also don't think we should get rid of lovers and gosling, lovers is a decent back up and is far better than shola, and i don't think we should get rid of both of them. Also we don't have many centre mids as it is, so i don't see we would get rid of guthrie and gosling and buy no CMs.

If were to buy a young winger i think it should be shaqiri, i know super unlikely but the lads amazing, and everyone was saying at the time that it would be very unlikely we would manage to get Ben Arfa. I think not managing him we should got Hoilet, but i don't really like his attitude, he's already thinking he's to good for Blackburn, which makes him look like a bit of a prick, and he's also a massive diver.
For centre back i don't see why we can't still go for vertongenh (SP?) he's class and would be a great long term replacement for Colocini. I know a lot of the bigger clubs are in for him, but would be great if we could get him.
As for LB pieters would be my choice.

Either way, future's looking bright for St James Park.

    same as above!
although it wouldnt suprise me if guthrie did go , imo hes a really good player and will only get better with match time ,
would like to keep lover , when he comes on hes created a fair few chances and done well.
gotta be honest i havent been impressed with gosling though, maybe a loan would do him good to get some match time.
    ranger will go to birmingham?
if we finish in and around where we are now will be really tough to keep teams away from our players after performing so well this year=[ atleast fatmike puts a high price on everything so will make it tough for other teams to buy !
would like to see a CB cover , quality RB and a couple young attacking minded players to come in.
