The main thing that strikes me as hypocritical is he is fine to play for England just not captain England. It just seems to say we can have a possible racist in the team just not as captain.

Give it to Parker (rather Gerrard stayed clear)
for this comp only; then finally do the old spring clean that should already have happened, away with the Gerrards Lampards etc (meaning no disrespect just needs to be done for next world cup) give it to Wiltshire; he's going to be the lynch pin of that England midfield for the next 6-7 years & I point to his performance at home to Barcelona in the champions league as proff of guts & steal required with only maturity to follow.

 

I recon that Scott Parker might be in with a shout for the job - he's been described as an inspirational leader by Carlton Cole (from his time at West Ham). T

Apparently, Scott Parker's "inspirational" pep talk at half time after, being 3–0 down, West Ham clawed back in the second half to get a 3–3 draw against West Bromwich Albion. Carlton Cole was quoted as saying "If you were there you would have had a tear in your eye" after the half time team talk

 

I'd have no problem with Parker getting it didn't he do one of those half time team talks against us as well?

Parker would be the best choice. Barry would turn it down after hearing anti-Barry captain chants in the crowd. Capello looks like a mug now after taking the armband off Rio and giving it back to Terry, now rio has come out to say he doesn't want it. IMO Rio and Terry shouldn't be anywhere near the squad anyway.

 

Whoever gets the job has to be one of the first names on the teamsheet.

IMO Parker currently fits that criteria, and he hasn't got baggage like the other 'senior' candidates. He's respected within the squad and I think he's a good enough pro to lead by example for the youngsters - the FA should be in his corner because (as far as I'm aware) he's not
- shagged any teammates' ladies,
- hasn't gotten drunk and abused foreign nationals at an airport,
- hasn't appeared in a YouTube special spitroasting a girl (or boy),
- hasn't missed a mandated drugtest,
- hasn't stood trial for assault,
- hasn't been involved in racist incidents outside nightclubs,
- hasn't allegedly bottled a nightclub doorman
...

And that isn't a full list for John, Steven and Rio and others, I'm sure...

 

Parkers a good choice, its looks as if when everyones we are gonna play a 3 man midfield, and that allows Parker,Wilshire,Gerrard all to play.Did say Hart b4 but perhaps ur keeper doesnt need the extra pressure, avin thought about it

 

does anyone think that the lack of condemnation and the forceful backing for terry at chelsea isn't attracting any real ire yet.

I don't see too many calling terry a racist either.... its nice cos terry doesn't have a report saying he's not so popele are being quite good aren't they

btw whilshire is out for the season... england will play barry and parker but in the end blame terry when they flop in the quarters.
