Some (apparently) southern supporters on the tigers facebook page say that the ground has been frozen for days, and is forecast worse for tonight

Pompey have apparently spoken to the coach firms which are leaving Hull. They have given them a telephone no to ring after the inspection. I live in Pompey and I can tell you my lawn is frozen solid. I dont think it has a cat in hells chance of being played unless they have people working all night with heaters etc.

Don't all ex PL grounds have under soil heating?

We better hope it doesn't get cancelled. We already have a fixture pile up.

No undersoil heating. They have those cover things, but they are far from perfect.

If its postponed our fixture pile up will really really be taking the piss.

Expect a fair few going down to Pompey but it'll end up changing to a night game meaning a low number would turn up :/ not good for the club, players or fans.

To be fair, so far we've only really got the Cardiff game out of place. The Brighton one might be midweek now, but they've taken advantage of the game the following weekend being cancelled as well and just stuck it in the middle of the two weekends off.

And I already checked the original date of the Brighton game as well, Pompey are due to play Barnsley and they're both out the cup so that game will be played then.

The pitch has been covered for days down there and there are heaters on it. If what you say is correct then it should have been called off friday before the team travelled down. IF BIG IF the game is cancelled after 10am then Pompey need horse whipping. Unacceptable and everyone should boycott the re-arrangement. If the FL fixture twits could organise better fixtures for this time of year it would not be an issue. :embarrassed: Now news there is a gas leak and other issues around Fratton so it may not just be the pitch that causes the game to be postponed. :steam:This could only ever happen in England. :(

Oh well, just having breakfast and then heading off down there. Fingers crossed.
