Good news prices frozen with extra benefits.

SAFC TV free,
Discounted travel to and from ground
Exclusive prize draws etc

A good end to this season could see our crowds rise again.

I think in the current economic climate this will be the norm for most clubs next season...

DISCOUNTED MATCHDAY TRAVEL
Supporters can take advantage of the new 'Wear On Our Way' travel pass, in association with Network One. The special matchday pass will cost just £20 for the entire 2012-13 season and includes travel to and from all home Barclays Premier League and cup games at the Stadium of Light from anywhere in Tyne and Wear, up to three hours before and three hours after the match.

Bah humbug..

I'm not complaining as this news is better than a price increase but... whats changed? And I'm not being stupid here, obviously MON is now the main man but since he arrived our attendances have not made the same level of improvement as the teams. You would expect to see a noticeable increase in numbers but we haven’t so I don't know how the club expects to see an increase in season tickets to get us anywhere near 47K when they are keeping the same pricing structure. My view is that the fans are still waiting and want to return but the club are taking us for granted. The club has two great options to fill the stadium but chooses neither,

1) The direct debit scheme is great, interest free for 8 months sounds great but you have to make 4 payments every 2 months which for an adult is over £100 that’s a lot for someone to manage why not make it easier for the fan and make it 8 payments of around £50 this is much easier to manage.

2) This for me is simple, a no brainer Lower the price of a season ticket and I don’t mean by a lot. The current saving by owning a season ticket is only around £100 this is not an incentive it’s the opposite and the club are making a mistake by highlighting this, it only equates to £5 a match. If we were a regular top half finishing team fair enough this policy would work but we're not, we as fans have been let down consistently for as long as I can remember so this is why I think this policy will fail; This is no longer a love decision but now a difficult financial decision if all we save is £5 per match its safer to wait and see what we do in the summer and how we start the season than to make a large financial commitment with so much uncertainty.

To help overcome this make owning a season ticket a real benefit and lower the price to start around £16 per match for an adult (£304 season) now the difference is over £200 from buying your tickets on a match by match basis. That’s an incentive.

I really think we would get closer to 40k season tickets holders and all spending more money when in the ground generating that special atmosphere we all want.

I'm not a season ticket holder anymore but would love to go back if the club made it possible.

I am a season ticket holder and TBH my days of wealth are well behind me, my only options in buying a ticket are on my credit card or the intrest free installment scheme, I use option two.

To many my £135 every two month to pay out is not a lot but to me it is so spreding it over a longer period would be a godsend to me, and I think many others.

Its all well and good saying we should be good fans, turn up and support the boys and the rest but, for many good fans its not that easy and I think we have thousands of good fans who simply cant afford to go.

The ones in the pubs are not the problem despite what Quinn says, its the ones who cant afford the pubs or Sky. Why not fill those empty seats in the gods with students, out of work, pensioners, low income and larger families.

On say tax credits, cheap seat if you buy a season ticket
Buy an adult and three kids, cheap seats for a season
Only the out of work would be a problem in sorting the not working from the wont work.

Look at how Hartlepool sold their season tickets....the more fans that bought tickets, the cheaper they became. The fans that paid big money at the start got money back as the sales went up.Would that work at the SOL?

I have been using free subsidised travel for years. The Park and Ride system.

So syd when you reach 65 will you be changing to the over 65 rate?

If I go to Durham I may get a season ticket now, just got to pick between durham and lancaster... I'm not sure how my parents would feel if a season ticket was a deciding factor in which uni I go to!

I'd love to buy a season ticket but as I work in retail I HAVE to work on Saturdays... Try to make the non-Saturday games when I can though.

Also, Tyne and Wear subsidised travel only??? What about us in Co Durham?
