The strange thing is that some of the things that Scotland is most famous for are not Scottish. Whisky (China) Haggis (Greek) Kilt (Irish/ Danish) Bagpipes (somewhere in Asia) Porridge (mainland Europe) and one of the most famous inventions nobody does consider scottish (Chicken Tikka Masala)
Two year we tried to sell Murphy and we couldnt then the missing Beatle came along with his ginger heed and paid us ove a millon pound for him, I blame the drink.
For a team that paid 8.2m for Wickham and signed Titus Bramble Cyprus, Im not really sure you can comment on transfer deals. Plus you also signed Edwards and gave Leadbitter a chance, Unfortunately that fooking numpty then signed them both for us.
Actually, the kilt is a Roman thing, though the Irish probably took it up first. A bit like whisky which is yet another thing the Scots pretend they invented. Tartan is Austrian. As for the inventions, the only thing Scotland is world class at is lying about them, claiming other peoples citizens for themselves (and dismissing as arrogant anyone else whoâd do the same not to mention claiming any Scotsman they donât approve of is English â see Rangers fans in Manchester) and stealing patents. They think they can get away with talking garbage about them by hiding behind their poor-little-put-upon-butter-wouldnât-melt-saints-with-nasty-neighbours image. Ever noticed how any good thing about Britain is miraculously all their doing, but anything bad they were dragged into it by the bullying English? Amazing! As for England, there are few that can compete with us as far as inventions and scientific advances are concerned, and that doesnât include Scotland. (Cue the âWhaâs Like Usâ postâ¦)
Couldn't really be bothered to read through the majority of this thread, but let's face it lads, the SPL is poor quality and very boring.
Sadly you seem to be heartfelt in your worthless opinion, I bet you don't have much time for anyone who's not English or ignorant.
The SPL is pretty poor quality in all honesty, but how do you conclude it's "boring"? I have no interest in English football really but I would not descibe it as boring just because I don't happen to have any emotion invested in any of the teams.
Heartfelt??? Mere statement of fact to correct a typically ignorant Scottish insult, surely!! Is your opinion “worthless” as well? Or is this typical Scottish arrogance? Or bigotry? Was it “worthless” that you dismissed centuries of globally important English inventions and implied the usual Scottish bollocks that you invented “everything”? Or is that the basis for the accusation – that you know you spouted garbage? And where was it ignorant, as compared to the ignorance of your boneheaded assertions? Or, again, is this a mere tacit acceptance of the inadequacies of your statements.
Is this where i'm supposed to hurl a load of abuse back? Read you own words back to yourself and try and see them as you wrote them, your own petty prejudices are dripping off your keyboard. It's embarassing.
No, I don’t know where you get the idea you were “supposed” to reply with abuse, though that’s what preceded it, but rather with a logical, reasoned response. Not forthcoming, needless to say. Though I must confess my reply to your first post was under the assumption you were the poster I’d replied to in the first place – turns out that was Satan’s Evil Claw or whatever his name is!
Assume and you make an ass of u and me. Your opening rant was riddled with innacuracies and sweeping generalisations, had you provided a reasonable rebuttal of some of the points people were making I may have responded in kind, however, that sadly was not the case. I all saw was a diatribe, the type which is commonplace amongst the intolerant and the ill informed and rears it's vacant head all too often when Scotland And England collide on these boards. As I said, it was embarrasing.
Don't get me wrong, I will watch most levels of football, and from all countries and competitions, even if some are perhaps less inspiring, or indeed of less consequence to me. Give me a conference play off semi-final and I'd be a happy viewer! The SPL just has the sort of feel of, well to give a random example, imagine if you put, let's say Wolves and West Brom in League 1 or 2. Two teams made up of fairly decent players and you'd obviously expect them to be at the top of the table, there may be the odd upset, but when it comes down to it the title would be decided when those two face each other, and in this case there are no end of season play-offs to get excited about! That is essentially how the SPL runs and why the SPL is slightly repetitive/boring...I'm not anti-Scottish teams or anything, if they are in the Champions League I like to see them do well against the European squads, but if there is an SPL game on TV, it is rather unlikely I will tune in! I think if more teams were vying for the title season in, season out it would be more compelling.
