Hessy promises those of us who were at Accrington our travel money back. Anyone actually seen some? Accrington, the chaepskates that they are, did not provide any tickets so we can't prove we were there (unless we show up on CCTV!) All we have as proof is our train tickets and friends who we met in the Commercial Hotel (Wetherspoons) before the match. A call to the club and they said they would call us back. Doesn't seem to be happening! Not that I expect to see any money. Must be mad to go back after watching the 7-4 drubbing we got there last year!
It sounds like this will be harder to fix than the defence. It shows the problems of making gestures and then not thinking through the consequences. Just think if the scousers found out about this--there would be at least quarter of a million Everton and Liverpool supporters who were definitely at the game wanting their refund. I think I smell a charitable donation coming up. Sorry away supporters.
Too be honest, it was a nice gesture by the club but I am not overly concerned about the refund. I think it shows that the management are aware of the effort that fans make travelling to away games and that they appreciate it. I am certainly not going to be chasing the club for my refund
The only loser at Woodstock was Joan Baez and she is coming to Tunbridge Wells on 23 Feb and will not offer refunds.
Think Hess should have never said that in the interview, the best thing he could have done is talked about it the day after.
