from now and for ever all i expect is us to be able to beat the lower teams week in and week out then we may be able to focus our attentions on the so called top teams a cup run would be nice and i know we wll have bad games but that must be our long term aim to sustain ourselves in the top flight and be cllased as a big club again so many times year after year we have nearly made this happen now in the mon eara i think we can do it.<bubbly>

I thought exactly the same as I watched your game against Fulham.

Anywhere beteen 8th and 12th for me. Lose (how dare I even think such a thing) against Stoke and could be back down 3/4 places. Very tight in the middle with Villa, Everton, Stoke and a couple of other's who could put a little run together. West Brom, Fulham.
The real (premature) positive is that we look just a bout safe with 15 games to go. Wigan, Wolves and Blackburn look just about ****ed.

As much as it sounds strange from a Mag, in my ideal world I would like to see you up there with us by the end of the season, but just not as high. Imagine if both NUFC and SAFC got into the Top 6? The rivalry is furious between the two clubs so to have both NE teams up there, outplaying the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal would be great for the area and derby days etc.

So long as you are still below us of course. <ok>

I agree Quendo but obviously Safc higher than Nufc, would be really good to have us up there and also boro in the premier league but with them just being a mid table team! Just be great for the north east fans !!!!

I think you need to turn your monitor 180 degrees.

Whilst tuned into Radio Five live for last nights match an Arsenal fan tweeted the programme and said if Arsenal continue with this poor form they are in, picked one point up out of the last four games, and we continue with this amazing run then he expected us to seriously threaten them for 7th. Bearing in mind our next home game is against the gunners, if we win we could narrow that gap to four points. Im trying very hard too not get ahead of my self here and would be thrilled if we finish 8th but you have to have dreams and maybe just maybe this is the season our dreams come true, our highest ever league placing AND the FA Cup....dont wake me up just yet.

I wouldn't take too much notice of Arsenal fans over the next few days. Football is a fickle old thing, and after their result against Bolton they will be pessimistic and miserable until they win again, when everything will suddenly be OK. Everyone does it.

I thik where we finish will depend on the injury list (ours and those around us). Despite the 2 in on loan and the return of Smoking Joe and Smiley we would struggle with any more injuries I reckon - but if we keep the players fit and other teams suffer more than we do then 8th or better is possible. I think Everton will finish above us, think the Mags will too (don`t say it too loud) but other than them we look better than those in and around the mid-section of the league.

    Happy Days

We can finish above 8th, I doubt it though.

We've still got to battle for 8th and if we do finish where we are now I'll be delighted!
