Good manager. Plain and simple. He's proven it at Newcastle and at Birmingham, so he obviously has what it takes.

I think we'll see him go on to bigger things in future.

    Legend.

Used to hate Brum (no offence) but since he's taken over, I look out for your results and hope you get promoted.

Just a genuine decent guy, decent manager and I've never been so gutted, since Sir Bobby, when he got fired.

Brilliant Championship manager and all round person.

His test will be the PL. He lost too many 'easy' games and that cost him his job.

I hope he learns from his mistakes and makes it big. He managed us to beat the scum 5-1. Automatic legend.

He's a thoroughly nice and decent bloke, I'll always have a soft spot for him and wish his team well whichever team he's with.

Brilliant Championship manager, having earned the highest amount of points for a team the year after relegation and having done brilliantly having to put up with having no money and losing 14 players. Seemed to be doing well in the Premier League though will have to prove himself if/when he gets Birmingham promoted to the Premier League. Top guy as well.

Will always be a legend for what he did for us, he's not just a good championship manager, he was cutting it in the prem too. Could see he was learning from his mistakes and hopefully if you come up he will continue to improve.

I've got a bet on you to win the league and Blackburn to go down. Thanks to Hughton there's still a chance...

Great guy and good manager. If he gets Brum promoted his CV will read 2 promotions in 3/4 years as a manager. I get the feeling though he's in the too good for the championship/not good enough for the premier league bracket though, like someone said earlier he lost too many easy games!!

Legend for both getting us promoted and beating Sunderland 5-1. I sincerely hope he takes you up just for the reception he'd get at SJP.

Decent Championship level manager. Too meek to deal with the bigger egos in football though.

How could you possibly say that when he had Barton, Nolan, Carroll etc completely on his side over here?

Exactly. Hughton leaves and Carroll, Nolan, Barton all follow.

Could deal with the biggest egos and create a team spirit of 'everyone against us' which worked wonders in the championship.

Also any promoted manager that could beat Sunderland 5-1. Arsenal 1-0. Villa 6-0. clearly is doing something right.

Did a great job for us after we got relegated and is an all round great guy. Sometimes wish he'd had more of a nasty streak in so much that he didnt put the pressure on the refs after a bad performance. As said, will get an unbelievable reception at SJP when he gets your lot promoted (here's hoping <ok>)

That's the problem though. Apparently Hughton was sacked because he didn't hold enough authority over some of the bigger egos in the team. Sure they might like him, but if he can't instil discipline and control then he isn't doing his job properly as a manager.

Quite simply, no other manager in the world would have done a better job than he did for us when we were in the Championship.

Cracking manager who is getting better which each day that passes. Proven at both championship and PL level. Comical sacking at our place but worked out well for all parties. Fell foul of not toeing the line and being due a payrise! I have no doubt we would have continued to progress under him but we'll never know. Hopefully he will receive better treatment from your owners. All in all you are very lucky to have him. Restored pride in our club while others were doing their best to whittle it away, and will do the same for you. Like a few Newcastle fans, such was his impact I now keep an eye out for your results.

Only query I ever had with him was the lack of bravery in his subs at times. Got any better for you guys?
