    Deserves some credit I think

Not a particularly flamboyant player so wont grab many headlines. But he does what he does and does it will, quite an efficient and tidy player.

I was impressed with his calmness on the ball under pressure tonight.

The lad needs more praise for his role tonight. It's good having the likes of him and catts in the team and it's these type of players that get the results and make the likes of Sess/Frazer/McClean look good.

He was class tonight. imo his best performance for us. "squad" looks better all the time. Thought Richardson had a good game tonight... maybe because of his place being under threat? Who knows nut it was very good and I am certainly enjoying being a sunderland fan atm

He had a good game tonight.

I still think either Jack or Cattermole in CM with A.N. other. Not convinced that the pairing of Colback/Catts will work (especially at home)

I didn't like Colback at first, and couldnt see what he brought into the game, he reminded me of Henderson playing in CM. However he has really developed in these last two months, and i am now far more than confident that he'll keep the ball, and hold that midfield area, really impressed with the lad. Also helps that he's local, all fans want local lads to do well.

One thing I picked up on was MON made a point of mentioning him to the media last night in his interview after the match, He stopped Andy Burton and said "can I just say I thought Jack Colbeck was amazing tonight and it's good we have him back". MON is such a good man manager. Those 10/15 words will lift jack and make him feel like a world beater. Jack will watch that back and feel really proud of himself. It's those little things that matter...

I though Jack wasn't up to the job at the start of the season. Oh how wrong I have been lately... There again, I think we all have.

One thing I would point out, he has struggled against bigger physical midfielders previously, that had people worried.
Being the size he is, it will be footballing smarts that can hold his starting position.
Last night showed he is learning all the time.

I agree with this 100%..For me it is either Catts or Colback but not both together...

I commented several months ago saying Colback and Cattermole can't play together. Both doing very good jobs individually but neither are attacking enough to put them together, they invite too much pressure on. I tried to communicate this to Bruce on not606 but he obviously never checked the forum
