Now, don't get me wrong, I'm under no illusion that Shola is some kind of deadly, energetic workhorse. However, it seems that time and time again Shola gets abused for his effort (and rightly so) yet Leon gets praised for the 'shift' he puts in within every game. This, to me, is bollocks, a fact which was epitomised by today's game.

I don't know whether it is an issue of time, in the sense that Shola has been with us so long that we are almost indoctrinated with his, shall we say, lethargic approach to football, yet Leon had a decent end to last season therefore he seems to be loved, but there has barely been a difference recently.

Neither are (anywhere near) good footballers, however Shola receives a vastly disproportionate amount of flack. Or does he? As many say, discuss*.

*Probably no point in doing so on this thread as Tash will post one, inevitably, on something similar soon which will go roflfatshitraped and that'll be that!

Best hasn't been good in the last couple of days, but I'm putting that partly down to him being played on the wing. Plus today everyone was ****, only managed to watch the second half but he got very, very little service. Noticed at one point though, Best bust a gut to get into the box. Shola? Did nothing. <ok>

I've probably give Best too much in his ratings, but he really is in every way better than Shola.

Best works very hard, Shola was a bit better today, but his performance vs Brighton was awful. He showed no determination to win balls in the air and didn't even try.

i think the reason that shola gets more flack than best is often you see best running around like a headless chicken chasing after the ball whereas shola will just stand still.

Both are offside too often, have poor positioning and are championship players.

However, ..................both can show moments of brilliance, and i think we have seen one from each this season.

    Thank you.

Got slated for saying he was **** yesterday... He is **** and like for example Chopra or Beckford he belongs in the Championship.

The odd occasion is fine, but he gets heralded as some sort of workaholic, which is often used as a defence for his lack of quality. As I say, i've got no reason to back Shola as he's frankly quite embarrassing, I just think it's rather unfair that some people constantly batter Shola yet ignore Best, simply due to the fact that they don't like him.

Is it going to be a situation in which I find myself worryingly thinking about your username?

Best is more consistent than Shola and is a bigger goal threat

Do you need to rest after the effort you evidently put into this response? It's really got me thinking...

they were both complete bollocks, but at least best had an excuse for being ****e in the first half (non for being equally ****e in the 2nd though)

Does anybody actually read ****ing OPs? I'm not saying 'I think Shola is better than Leon' because he's blatantly ****ing not! My point was that there seems to be a lot of admiration for Best, in my opinion misplaced, whereas Shola gets battered constantly. Do I need to rephrase?

I agree. I think they are both **** but for whatever reason Shola get stick no matter what he does and Best does not. Shola is good at getting on the end of long ball and Best can be pretty good with his feet, but that is pretty much all the pair can do.
