Applying for two similar jobs in the same place, but in different departments, Hopefully I'll get interviews for them. It seems that more experienced and qualified members are getting sacked from their jobs, and taking jobs lower down the pecking order, pushing people like me that are trying to get more of a foot in the door, further down the pecking order. The woman that interview me said she'd put me forward for a lower job.
It's why I joined the Territorial Army, to at least get some experience at something. Good luck, something will come around eventually I know what its like to be unemployed albeit for a couple of months.
Thats the problem mate, unfortunately. At least youre getting put forward for a lower job, must have impressed in the interview if she's willing to do that.
I'm not really looking for amazing jobs, I've basically given up on FT jobs, I don't have a chance. I'm going for band 2 type jobs, basically around 11-13k pa but part time. Most of the jobs have been really weird shifts like 4pm - 9pm, 6-12 ect, but I'd take anything. I've applied for 3 jobs recently in a hospital that's on my doorstep, I was hoping that would work in my favour as it would pretty much guarantee punctuality. However, it's only 1 out of 3. Hoping to get interviews for the other two.
Unlucky Tash mate! Always remember fella, if you really are getting desperate, drop us a PM. I can arrange an interview at our place for something. Can crash at mine if you desired
Ah can see the differences here. 1. Your not as picky. 2. Your location is better than in the middle of nowhere in County Durham.
I was excited when Ingeus showed me some extra job sites, but they all advertise the same jobs as the ones I've already checked
Think a lot of them do, look on the Chronicle websites link and since it changed to fish 4 jobs its a lot worse.
Well here's a very significant thing they tell you at Ingeus, most jobs these days aren't even advertised, as it costs 4k to put an advert in the paper, so most jobs are just word of mouth, so at the moment it's actually who you know. Ingeus is a great organisation, the job center are ****. If we really want the ****ing chavs to stop claiming benefits for doing **** all, send everyone to Ingeus. The Job centers are ****ing ****. They just check your diary, input the jobs you claimed you applied for, (they don't even check up with the employer to confirm it), go on a database of jobs that you've probably already looked at if you actually are trying to get a job, and then give you your benefits. You could lie every week and get your benefits. Ingeus actually get paid for how many people they get into work, and know their stuff. The job center is just a system abused, it's like they take it up the arse, know they're getting bum raped and accept it.
Never heard of Ingeus might give them a look, Usually use the job centre website than go to the job centre though when I have been they are horrible, had a work placement next to the one in Durham, you could always tell who worked in our building and who were looking for jobs because they were all chavy little scanks. Got to say look at organisation like Newcastle College's job vacancies on their website.
