Couldn't amy team make a car have a high rake angle for a indoor PR shoot? They might not be able to do it and racing speed on a track.
Yes. But why would any team wish to so when the idea of an unveiling is to show the shape of their hand (albeit without revealing the cards it may be holding)?
So, do we think Newey and Fry are concerned with anything visible on the car? As most of the changes have been internal, my guess is they won't have any choice but to wait until Australia.
Well, I should think the only thing they will immediately be questioning (if only in their heads for the moment) is the Bobbinz gubbins!
Just thinking, Mclaren are aiming to dominate a race from pole. The best chance of pole is in the hands of Lewis Hamilton. So do you think McLaren have utilized this?
good question Bando . Apparently they have focused on single lap pace this year on the mp4 27 and that they have refined how the car works with the tyres . Maybe something to do with button's issues but then again he wasn't that bad at getting the tyres up to temp in qualifying last year. Obviously Lewis was good at this but hopefully his focus is on race pace , but yea your right about that whole dominate from pole thing its the right way to go to stop vettel going off into the distance.
It is the better way to go but you dont want to get mugged on the start grid. Ive always thought a decent launch from the start like the renaults used to have were more effective than gunning for pole. And then you have better tires and race pace which isnt burnt on the saturday. The red bull sometimes put little effort into pole and zoomed off at the start. Thats the ultimate goal.
Yea the renaults at the start were crazy at making up ground back in the day . When i look back at last season though the mclarens starts were pretty crap especially lewis , it was weird i dont know why? i tried looking into it but couldn't find any answers. Maybe the system for the clutch was a slight annoyinous for the drivers .Its something il have to look out for this year. Lastly i agree bando red bull found a balance because vettel could keep his tyres in a competitive state through qualifying and the race.I hope mclaren ,button and hamilton can excell in this region with there car also.
I'd love it if that mysterious object became this years f duct or double diffuse and it got the nickname the "bobbinz gubbinz" fame at last
Red-Bull and ferrari are both rumoured to have developed their own versions of bobbinz gubbinz to be put on the cars after the summer break Hmmm The FIA declares bobbinz gubbinz illegal after Red-Bull fail to get the stuff to work properly maybe..........
Pleased with that Impossible to tell how fast it is (however much we will try) before it hits the track, but at least it will look good even if it is in last. Here's hoping the FI and Ferrari reveals show it to be Caterham who missed a trick with that nose, (although i understand the MP4-26 was almost legal anyway).
Bobbinz gubbins it is. And I'll hazard it may form the basis of considerable debate in the months to come; not least from a bleating Red Bull puppet called Horner - or a more substantial man, interested in politics but currently in command of what is most dear to most Italians - after the family, of course. Interesting stuff Sea-Man. Pray tell us more. It seems you have at least a clue about what it is!
Blimey.... I'll be glad when we're watching them blast around tracks rather than looking at pictures of them. I'm really hoping that the nose on the McLaren turns out to be the best approach this season so that any other cars with the stepped nose get rid of them by next season. The thought of the rest of the grid running around with that bloody awful stepped nose makes me want to gouge my eyes out with an ornamental shoe horn. A few people have commented both here and elsewhere that the car looks quite conservative, I'm actually quite happy about that in some ways. I'm hoping that they come out of the gate pretty solidly and are not working on getting a poorly performing car fixed for most of pre-season testing. I have to say though... It's a thing of beauty!
I hope the Red Bull and Ferrari are both quite different from the McLaren and each other as I like a bit of variation in the cars. Unless its all been cloak and daggers the Ferrari is probably a duck nosed beast but what will Red Bull have come up with I wonder.... I too can't wait too see how reliable and composed these cars are in the tests, and then how fast they actually are come Q3 in Australia.
Bobbinz gubbinz its that new car ballast pioneered by the F1 team and developed by McLaren applied technologies, it balances the car 100% perfectly without actually weighing anyhying or taking up any room, this will allow the team to use more fuel and avoid a fuel managent phase of the race. imagine that
