I can't believe so called "fans" could call for Barmby to go. How does this help our team? Its all very well expressing opinions and yes that is what sites like not 606 is for, but destructive unjustified rants like this thread are shameful. Barmby is a young manager passionate about his club. He deserves time and he is allowed to do things differently to how we fans think, from our armchairs, we would do it. He has maintained the club in the play-offs when most would have expected some drop off. He has lost none of his star players and brought in good reinforcements. He has not spent on poor value for money players. Why do some idiots call for a managers'
head the instant a few results don't go our way? I would give him at least 2-3 seasons regardless of outcome. We are not going to get anybody with a better football brain, passion for Hull or potential to be a great manager. He needs managerial time to exapnd his experience, that's all. He does not need a feckless subset of the fans undermining him. :emoticon-0120-doh:

Another thought provoking thread form City's resident WUM.

I'd like to know, who'd you have in as his replacement?

How long would you give them if they couldn't change things around?

Why? Things aren't perfect but they could certainly be worse. 22 points from 39 isn't a bad return at all, it's unfair to be calling for Barmby's head. The goal scoring issue was apparent from before Barmby became manager, so you can't really label that as a reason for wanting him out. The fact you offer no credible justification to your claim makes you look even more of a tool.

Is that guy for real? Sure Barmby has things to address but I can't believe that anyone would seriously think he should go.

Playing Devil's advocate... he has had a month to sort it out and chosen not to.

I still don't think Barmby's really the man for the job, but there's no credible reason for wanting him out at this stage, his managerial career could still go either way. That being said I don't think giving him 2-3 years (as somebody said on another thread) would be the right course of action either.

We at least need to give him this season and some of the next, bearing in mind he's new to management he's probably out performed a lot of people's expectations. As you say there's no credible reason for wanting him out at the moment, his inexperience has shown at times but he appears a perceptive and intelligent individual who is hopefully learning quickly. Time will tell I guess, but if things weren't working out I imagine Nick would step down rather than be sacked, given his and the clubs cautious approach to his appointment as manager.

If we'd literally have scored say 5 more goals, we would be in the top 2..

our defence is amazing as is the midfield... just not scoring goals

i was very dissappointed we didn't bring in a top forward but we are doing well although a loss vs pompey and we could fall to mid table quickly its that tight

If we drop like a rock from the play off places due to a lack of goals, which could happen but i hope it won,t, then the debacle of not adding to our forward line will be thrown back at NB again and again in every after match interview, each game that passes in which we dont, score only amplifies the pressure on NB and he was beginning to sound a bit like NP with his tone and attitide when facing questions that fans just want a genuine answer to, we as fans do pay an awful lot of money in supporting the club and our only payback is celebrating goals and winning matches, if we don,t score or win matches, then our levels of enjoyment are affected and thats when the backlash on NB may gather momentum,

anybody who says that they will gladly follow a team that can,t score goals and struggle to beat the worst teams in our league is in need of a reality check, the team have worked so hard this season to get us where we are, NB could and should have got someone in to help keep us there because on the last few performances, Fryatt and McLean aren,t the ones to do that , thats not negativity, just an honest appraisal of their current form.

Hull City are in the best 6 placed clubs in possibly the hardest most even Championship season for sometime. Just look at the results that other teams are getting. Not one game this season is predictable. We are a very hard team to beat and so are the rest of this league.
Booing and calling for Nick Barmby's head, well thats just daft. Too late to change the dynamic of the squad, we are stuck with the way that we play and the players we have. I think that some people had better get used to him he is going to be around for a very long time.

"anybody who says that they will gladly follow a team that can,t score goals and struggle to beat the worst teams in our league is in need of a reality check"

So all of them games when we lost in the dying minutes, when we had the biggest goal difference in the league, meant that you stopped going, just there for the good times never the bad, you must be on the wrong board mate, this is Hull City. Win Lose or Draw Hull City!

Having followed city home and away since 1982 and watch the club climb from the depths, my concerns are that we do not have a forward line that can maintain or improve on our current league position, we have a decent defence that doesn,t concede many which gives us a chance of winning games, but without scoring we simply won,t enough matches to stay ahead of those around us. its easy to have a blind optimism that everything will be ok, but be real, where are the goals going to come from because right now, you just can,t see Fryatt and Mclean getting too many, maybe little and large (adebola and cullen) will come to our rescue..

Let's face facts we are only in the top 6. We may not score But Doncaster beat Southampton, drew 0:0 against Cardiff. In our last 10 games we have lost 3. West Ham lost 4 Southampton 4.We have won 6 out of the 10.
Is this a team that is failing? Is this a team that does not entertain? Is this a team that is worth booing?

It's a team with lots of room for improvement, and a manager who's publically stating that he hasn't even looked to see who would be available to help improve us.

EDIT: Should clarify, he's publically stating he hasn't even looked to see who would be available to help improve our goalscoring record.

I really hope he has somebody lined up next week on loan, i just hope NB naivety and inexperience dont, spoil what has been and could be a really good chance to go back up.

As much as I think this is a stupid thread and also as much as I think Barmby will turn out to be a great manager for us; he really should have made 2/3 signings to strengthen our already bloody good squad. We need cover for Rosie, a striker who scores goals (Someone tall preferably to play alongside Fryatt/Simpson/McLean) and/or a winger; instead we've signed half a player in Josh King because there's a good chance he won't be signing long term, he's not match fit, and couldnt shoot at all last night!!

Things could be much, much worse but they also could be slightly better; if we'd won last night we could have been plain sailing in fourth. I'll be keeping the faith; but still think if we lose McKenna to injury; we won't be the same team, he's our unsung hero who ties everything together in my eyes. Deserved MOM last night... and deserved his booking too :emoticon-0136-giggl
