The legal system in this country is prone to wasting huge amounts of time and money unnecessarily. I struggle to see what evidence on either side can be gathered in another five months that couldn't have been in the previous three. It'll be talked about during the Euros which won't be good for a squad which is **** enough as it is without such distractions and there will be the whole furore over will he be captain or not, will black players back him or not which etc etc which will bore us all to tears. If we go out in the group stage or get trounced in the quarter-final he'll be seen, rightly or wrongly, as a major reason for it and if by some miracle we got to the final or, if the entire population of Spain dies in the next few months, win the thing he'll be welcomed home as some sort of national hero which could affect the case.
Correct me if I'm wrong, (the ****ing wife does), but isn't this a criminal prosecution? If it is, couldn't John ****y, be convicted of inciting racial hatred, a crime that carries a custodial sentence? I bloody hope so!!
If that's the case then it doesn't surprise me they have opted for a later date in July when the season is over. I just can't see how people can blame the FA. Don't get me wrong more often than not I will side against the FA in favour of the football fan but they have their hands tied behind their backs. It makes sense for the club to do it in July once the Euro's are over and there is no competitive football. Once you start punishing players before guilt is proven you are playing a dangerous game.
With all due respect mate I wouldn't even put England in my top 5/6 favourites. In fact I don't even think England will get out the group
I hope England don't get out of the group stage the overpaid bunch of twats!! If the courts find him not guilty, then the Ferguson Association will find him not guilty.
Here's a different angle to consider. I'm glad the court case has been scheduled for July for this reason. If it had been done and dusted two months ago then Terry will have had his silly fine and still been captain of Chelsea. Tell me if you doubt that. This way every time his name is mentioned in the media during the next six months they will add the by line that he is still the subject of a racist accusation. The whole world will know what he is, that's those who don't know already. It won't affect Englands chances at all 'cos we have none
