Touche! You are not me! As you say, this is a messageboard, which makes my opinion equal to that of anyone else. Is it not disrepectful to the City staff that certain individuals on here think they know better than they do? And a bit stupid to suggest that they do? Surely if they did, they would have a career in professional football?

Yes, it would have been nice to get a proven striker in to help our push, hell, it would have been nice to spunk millions of pounds on our squad. But, we didnt, so how about instead of moaning about what we havent got, or didnt get, you support what we have got? Debating about it isnt going to change anything!

I don't think having a "Lambert" in your team precludes you from playing attractive football "on the deck" Nobody can say Southampton play hoofball, nor Norwich in the Prem. But they play a lone "big" centre forward.

What it does do, tho, is give you a plan B in case plan A doesn't work.

Which is better, to bang your head against wall playing attractive football for 90 minutes against a side that put 10 men behind the ball for a whole game, or to have a plan B for say the last 15 mins when plan A is clearly not going to work.

This is exactly what I'm trying to get at. What does it matter what the fans agree is best for the club? Nick Barmby picks the team, sets tactics etc not me, or you, or anyone else on here, CI, Amber Nectar or Radio Humberside. I'm sure Nick knows exactly what he wants from his side and quite clearly that doesnt include a big, marauding centre forward.

Nobody is saying you don't have a right to your opinion, quite the opposite. But if that opinion is that other people are not allowed to voice their opinion, or moaning as you put it, then you should go elsewhere. Far better to argue with people why they are wrong than to simply call them poodles.

Why does any of that mean we should not be discussing it? If you don't like it, don't read it.

This is not a team capable of winning the play offs if it gains automatic promotion which it is entirely capable of.

Capable only if we score goals - hence the debate

I didnt simply call them Poodles, I called them whining, whinging tossers aswell. But thats irrelevant. I've argued my point. Again, we are 5th in the league, 6 points off the automatic places and have hardly been banging them in all season. So why now is it time to panic? Because the transfer window was open? Like I said earlier, whats to stop our current strike force from turning a corner and start getting the goals?

Who actually was on the bench?

    Carson, Cooper, Oli, King, ?

Surely with everything else covered that last place is there for a striker? Am I missing something?

6 points off automatic promotion is great if you're an average team. We aren't an average team we are a great side capable of a much higher position than we are now. The football we play deserves promotion and the only thing missing is finishing chances, I've honestly never seen a team make such an issue out of finishing. You see plenty of teams that are short of goals but none that make so many chances on such a regular basis and still can't score, it's an unbelievable situation. Every tme we have a chance to make up ground on the top teams (after last night we should be 4th and 4 points off the top 2) we **** it up by not scoring. There's no point making the playoffs if we're going to lose in the semis 1-0 on aggregate after making 30 chances across the two legs but not scoring. And before you suggest it, no there isn't always next year, teams can go from promotion candidates to relegation fodder in one year (look at Forest). This is the best chance we've had in ages and with a bit of bravery like 2008 it's there for the taking.

No one would complain if this was a one off or a blip. This follows the pattern set by every home game since new years day 2011 when we lost to Leicester. I think if you looked at our results over that period you'd struggle to find a team that's scored less goals at home over that time in the entire football league.

If we all just agree with the manager even when it blatantly isn't working, what's the point of a forum?

Because, as others have said, our only source of goals is Koren from 25 yards and that isn't going to keep saving us. He can't be on top form all season and when he's not scoring, like last night, we need some other way of scoring a goal.

They haven't looked like scoring in ages. Form lasts a few games, this has been all season and most of last.

As for signing a big striker like Southampton have, I'd agree with that to a point, but unless they can also shoot it won't help games like last night where we created plenty but didn't score.

and you are the most deluded Muppet there is on here. Yes we know you don't win every match, yes we know you dont score in every match, Yes strikers have tough patches, BUT THEY DON'T USUALLY LAST THE WHOLE ****ING SEASON so far. We had upwards of 20 shots on and off target last night and did not manage to put one in the net. It is just not good enough to keep us in the playoff places. If it was just one game you could cut some slack but it isn't it is nearly every game

I saw the Premier League Tigers, I arent going to "Reply with Quote" to that as post lengths will be ridiculous. Whilst most of what you say is true, we are still in a position to achieve promotion this season. If Nicky thinks the players we've got currently are good enough to do that, then I'm happy to go along with that. If he decides to bring someone in on loan, then I'll go along with that too.

You really are deluded mate. If we continue as we are now there is not a cat in hells chance of us being anywhere near the play-offs. Both Nicky and Pearson have tried with our present strike force with little success. The only one neither of them have given a chance to being Simpson. Dispite what Nicky said when he came back from Milwall all he has had is a derogartry 1 minute on the pitch during which he set up a goal for Stewart

Yeah but whats to say we carry on as we are? We've got to this position without banging the goals in. For me we've struggled since boxing day, and that comes down to form. Whats stopping Matty scoring at the weekend and then running with it for a couple months?

Say this Striker comes in that you all want. What if he takes time to settle? What if he doesnt fit the team? What if he cant hit a cows arse with a banjo when he gets here? Its all ifs and buts.

The only fact you need is we are 5th in the league with 18 games to go. ANYTHING can happen!

Our last 10 games have produced a Win-Draw-Loss of 6-1-3. It's hardly catastrophic.
