Now that Zamora deal is as good as done what do we get? Macheda (well ,i dont know really..... ),Taiwo (i expect him a lot. Great signing) ,Onuoha (Another superb coup . On the way to ranger-legend?) ,Diakate (dont know lot about him but i trust sparky in this) ,Cisse ( Great signing. gonna score loads i hope) ,Zamora (Quality striker and if healthy gonna score loads) All in all great signings and if sparky dont save us from relegation now it dont look good in his CV........

I think the most interesting question now is what happens to Macheda? He's got to be 4th choice at best behind Cisse, HH and Zamora? In fact, I'd probably put Betty ahead of him too!!

Igor, good early reality check. We are still in a dog fight.

Onuha and Zamora are familiar players to sparky and the others are been in his "radar" for sometime now ,so i believe its gonna be a one cracking team.

Would it be to bold a statement to say we possibly have one of the strongest defences in the PL, certainly better than Arsenals

You're right Col. What happens to Macheda? Does he even make the 25 man squad? HH, Zamora, DJ, Taraabt and Betty can all play up front. From what I've seen of Macheda (which isn't much) I wouldn't include him over any of those. Can we send him back?

Lots of victories for points, and to secure our stay in the PL, I hope.

So Betty's gone? How about DJ? We now have a very interesting strike force up front.

I'm very excited to see what happens.

A lot will depend on how quickly MH manages to gel the team together. Buying new players for a quick fix is not always the answer. Villa are a very solid team, especially now under McLeish. It would be a superb to get anything out of tonights match. Wolves and Wigan look awful. We need to keep in contact with Blackburn and Bolton as i think one of us three will also go down. I think iy can be easier to put new forwards and even midfielders straight into a team. It can often take a while to get new defenders to learn a new defensive system and how to work together as a unit. The ability of Onoucha and Taiwo to hit the ground running may determine how many points we pick up in the coming weeks. Remember that Onoucha and Zamora in particular, have not played a lot of football lately and can't be match fit.

Well ,as i said earlier that sparky has now got the tools for escaping relegation. He's not much of manager if he can't keep us up. What's important he now got also options and can use some kind rotation if he will. After Taarabt and Traore comes back from africa we now got some quality width in the team at least.
